  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

My almost new TC250...

nice, thanks guys  i'll swap 'em this wknd. that'll crack me up if they fit just fine, had it in my head they weren't compatible.

I can speak from experience that a 2007 TE 250 rear wheel will not interchange with a 2008 CR125 rear wheel. Not sure about the '09-up wheels, though.

The 2007 and older TE's do not have the latest generation frame is the reason. Husky made a spacer where the sprocket bolts on the hub which is about 5mm thick on the '08 TE,TXC, and 125's.

All current two stroke 250/300's still use this older generation rear hub.

It should fit, I am running the 18 from my 08 Txc250 on my 09 cr125.

Later,
Thats good news to me, I have been wanting to get an 18'' for a trials tire that I could switch back and forth between the TC and 125 when I know I will be running in rocky sections, and have a fresh nobby for muddy days. Yea, I know, someday I will try a Motoz, but that is for another thread.

Trials tire rules on the 125!

I also love it on my WR250f but never really liked it on my TXC250 for some reason, the power delivery makes it spin too easy and that is not a good thing.

Do these 2010 that Bills have all sorted out as far starting and general problems the 2010 had (Run as good as yours bike now). That is cheap and would make trying out a 4 stroke a lot cheaper. I was thinking 2012 tc 250 but for my c-b motocross class riding skill this might be all the bike I need. Plus after riding my 2008 cr144 for last 4 years might still be a step up in power plus I would just keep cr 144.

You've seriously piqued my interest in a 2010...please keep us updated on how you're getting it sorted. As mentioned above, it might be worthwhile to have a 2010 tc sticky...

If enough of us start getting them to ride in the woods it may be worth a sticky, but right now I am not sure how many of us are doing it. Maybe as the bike improves more will be riding MX with them.

I am riding it in rocks and roots and weight 40 pounds more than you. The extra weight i carry will actually make the suspension harsher for me as it will sit lower int he progressive part of the stoke. It needs stiffer springs (which will actually make it plusher for me) and i want less high speed damping for gobbling up roots and rocks. I knew it was sprung and valved for a 150 MX dude and I am far from that with my use. Richard from House of horsepower will be getting the suspension soon to do his magic as he owes me one.

BTW I mostly cured the starting issue. Needed a large pilot. Went to a 42 might like a 44. starts with in 5 kicks hot now where before it would not hardly start at all. 30 kicks and then push it down a hill sucked. That's over I think. Seemed to gain some low end and roll on power too.
I ride in rough stuff also, but I am not familiar with what the high speed adjustment does (I am assuming you mean on the shock), which way do I need to go?

The starting is not right and i still struggle with it. I can kick start it now but it is 1-15 kicks and i can't seem to find what it likes. Will continue to work on it. Rode the GG250 yesterday as it was a sloppy technical ride and knew i would be starting bikes a lot, and on hills, and needed more range as well (tank is coming). There were times i was really wanting the TC and other times I was glad i was on the GG. The GG took a while to get used to after riding the TC. The TC feels a lot lighter and handles way better. The GG has a great technical motor, super flexible and will pull from zero RPM. The slower it got the more i liked the GG, the faster the more I wanted the TC back.

i've got an '07 TC250 and still love it for everything. goes really well in the woods and on track. only extra or additional mod i wish i had was a spare 18" rear wheel. the 19" spooks me in the rocks. i have HD tubes in now but i've pinched plenty in the past riding MX.

will the 18" rear off my '09 WR144 fit the '07 TC? havent tried because i figure it's a no (plus i cant stop grinning on the WR!)

Might try the bib mousse-end of many problems-I am a convert-better traction/more predictable in the fall rocks/slime- run a rim lock too
The '19 always pinches quicker-less sidewall

Any update on the starting?

I have the bike with yellow lettering on the rims. I installed a JD jetting kit in it from the start and have not had any problems with starting. Lucky I guess. I typically start it by bringing by bringing the piston against compression then kicking with the kicker at about 3/4 from the top. I have the use the hot start after laying the bike on the side. When people first get on it, they do have a hard time starting it. My brother road it last time out and could not get it started after it unloaded. It took my about 20-30 kicks to start it. This is the first time that has happened. I think he grabbed a handful of throttle when trying to start it.
