  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc My 250 upgrade

MOTORHEAD

Husqvarna
Pro Class
This is my attempt to upgrade a 2010 WR300 into a 2013 CR250. I've swapped about all the WR parts for CR parts, like the rear brake, axles, ignition and so on. I converted it to a 250 last year, so I just went for a winter re-freshening. Hope you like.

SCHWIIINNNG!!! Pipe looks awesome mate(sure it cost a pretty penny too!), is it noisy with that little can on? hows the rear disc holding up, any dramas? does it make much difference with the disc/master cylinder you got on? Go ride that thing, its too clean! Cut down sideplates look heaps better IMHO, did it to mine as well. nice case work too, looks sharp with red hoses. no lectron or hydro clutch? wish my bike still looked like that, ahh memories

Thanks. The silencer sounds OK to me. It's 4mm carbon fiber with Silent sport packing. I've had good luck with the two keeping sound down and it's roughly the same size as a PC R304. Saturday it will have to pass a sound test, we'll see. BTW- I made it. The disc is holding up well, but I haven't ran it with the new master cylinder yet. I like the set up I have on the PWM so I really don't feel the need for the Lectron. I've tried a hydro clutch and like this set up better. It's the shorter MP T-2 cable and WC lever. It works better with the Rekluse.

Looks great, nice work! Any issues with the chain rubbing the new master cylinder? I had thought about doing that too.

What's that on the fuel tank?

I haven't rode it yet with the new master, but there is slightly more clearance than with the stock one. The thing on the tank is a dry brake.

Tell me about the black plastic frame guards where your boots rub. How did you make those? They're the best I've seen

Bike looks awesome! I see your radiator hose set removes the thermostat. Did that make a big difference? Where did you buy the hoses?I was thinking about removing the thermostat on my 250.

Looks good, nice art work!

Glad I am not the only one that tinkers all winter on bikes.

Pipe looks sharp. It reminds me of those lil black things you light around the 4th of july and uncoils like a snake.

They are DRC hoses for the 2010, which this bike is, and I got them at Wheeling Cycle supply.

Tinkering is the only thing that keeps me sane in the winter.

motorhead this bill nonamerider bike looks awseome i have redone 7 cr250s and yours is the best husky i have seen.i am looking for updates.new pipe vs dep etc. what tires are those.nothing against the wrs the crs run so much better even for off road. great job love attention to detail.i need to step up my game.time to ride stay safe bill.

Hey Bill, thanks. The tires are Bridgestone 203/204 combo. I plan to do a pipe testing between this and the DEP. I really like the DEP, but this one just has that little extra trick kick. If it works like the DEP I'll be happy with it.

i just put a set of 203 / 204 on mine you will love them.it was 80 yesterday got to ride today 40 and 3 inches of rain .testing/ head mods so far so good. drool factor on your bike a 10. clear coat that pipe and have fun.

Those came from Pirie Performance Products

I didn't see them on the P3 web site. I'll give them a call today. How much did they cost from P3?
