• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Did RV2 ever learn how to use a HYDO clutch? He's got a race coming up before the 1st day of March ... (ama racer guys in the states are on race 9 the same weekend?) ...
 
I only have an antenna here but maybe I'll get lucky here and see some live but youtube will be good enough for me ... Myself, I've watched RV2 run off and hid from the camera men more that once the past few yrs ..He lead 90 out of the 100 laps of the last sx racing he did in the states ...Seems he never got alot of PUB here in the past with his dominating riding but I'm certainly glad you guys are interested in your fellow countryman now... I hope he wins every moto or race or whatever constitutes victory over there. It's gotta be like a yr off as compared to the past.

Too late to start another thread so forgive this going off-topic slightly ...

Does anyone know their racing format? All I know currently is they race every other weekend usually ... This extra 7 days (as compared to the ama racers) between races should really help the old guys with their recovery time and young racers to adapt to such a grind.

You might have missed it but Kdub said at the later part of his racing that he could not run an entire outdoor season due to the grind ... CR22 has had problems running an entire season a few times in the past also. It just ain't for everyone.

With such a long drawn out racing season across the pond, any advantage that RV2 might have had in the fitness area, just does not exist over there on the same level. I've asked multiple times what do their racers do with all the off time over there between races... No answers on that one and I'll guess they try to maintain their fitness and enjoy their life and not crash in practice.

Here's a few last words from these guys ... I gotta say I don't follow AC alot, but every time I read his words, he's Mr. Goodguy and always on a positive note for all involved ... RV is ~usually ~all business ..

First of all, to Youthstream the promoter and the FIM, it’s always nice to race here in Qatar, and thanks for bringing our sport to a better level. For sure, I am motivated. It is always difficult to find something new, because the competition is getting faster and faster and stronger, but I try and invent something new every year. I love the sport and I live to ride my bike. I love riding the bike so much, and even if I wasn’t racing I would ride the bike every single day. It is just a matter of my passion and it makes me want to ride every day.

So far it’s been good [being in Europe]. It’s been a long off season. It has been for everyone of course. I only get to race these guys once a year at the des Nations, so it should be pretty interesting for everyone including myself and the media. I think we are ready, I am going to have to learn pretty quickly and these guys are very good and it’s going to be a long season with some really good racing. I might catch these guys out at some races and they might catch me out at some races.

It (Doha) actually reminds me a lot of like Las Vegas, desert all around and a big city, hotels and stuff so actually when we were driving to the hotel I was like this place reminds me of back home with big roads and big cars. What keeps everything interesting is every time we get off the plane it’s a new place and in America everything is known to me.
I’ve ridden Colorado at night (asked about riding a motocross track at night), but I think here the lighting might be better than what I am used to for a night race. I will check the track out and see how it is and I think every track will be pretty good.

I think the new competition will bring some excitement, but also everything about the racing is new for me. Like I said before, I usually come out here for a week and that’s for the MXoN and now I will be here for the whole season just that in itself is pretty exciting.

RV2 and AC222 are getting the PUB but I'm here to tell ya, you do not wanna play around with the guy second from the right ....
 
There are some results out there for qualifying :) .... These are 2 or 3 day races?

Just remembered, this is a night race ..that might add an extra day to their racing ....

One thing about having all the rest time, it should make for better racing on the main event because no one should be winded.

If they do race again tomorrow, that gives plenty of time to review that gopro footage and get a new race strategy for the next days racing ...

Do they get to work on their bikes also?
