• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

MX2 racing and 2 more Husky riders

This is sort of the way the season has gone all year ... poor qualifying maybe ... But AL can usually get 1 out of the 2 motos well inside the top 10 but usually does not get a good, 2 moto day ...

Here's two more names below for riding a Husky to a podium ... I wish them both very good luck with the bikes, their racing, and company support ...

Team Husqvarna Ricci Racing showed up at Loket in the Czech Republic for the twelfth round of the MX2 world championship with no less than three riders at the start line. Alessandro Lupino and Nick Triest, back after injury, were joined by promising young Italian rider Ivo Monticelli, who Team Manager Ilario Ricci insisted in giving a chance to race in these final world championship races on the Husqvarna TC 250R.

Alessandro Lupino after taking fifteenth place in Saturday's qualifying heat, ran a great first race finishing in seventh place just four seconds off fourth place. Lupino started the race in tenth place and began to pull back positions clocking up respectable times and allowing him to finish in seventh place. The second round saw Lupino set out from the rear, but a fall on the second lap whilst attempting to make up positions, forced him to the back of the field. Lupino fell again, this time a few minutes before the end of the race, thus finishing the round in seventeenth place.
Alessandro holds on to tenth place in the overall world championship standings.

Ivo Monticelli made an encouraging debut for Husqvarna coming within a hair's breath of the points in both rounds, finishing in twenty-first positions in each race.

The next round of the MX2 world championship takes place in England on the 12th August.

Alessandro Lupino: “I raced really well in the first round and I kept the pace until the end of the race, coming in just behind the leaders. It's a shame that the second race didn't turn out so well. I made too many mistakes that broke my concentration and I couldn't get back into it as I should have. My aim is to ride the next races the same way I did the first race today at Loket.”

Ivo brings a boatload of cash with him, that always helps a team make the choice to "employ" him.
He was here dabbling in SX not having a good go with it in 2011. He is another, not top of the podium guys (IMHO), MX2 top 10 yes, just like the departing guy. Nick Triest can be a podium contender.

translated with google:

"Husqvarna withdraws from world championship motocross MX2 at the end of this season. According to our sources, BMW, brand owner, would invest the budget in the World MX2 world championship enduro. After two seasons in the paddock MXGP the manufacturer Varese would take therefore (temporarily?) A line on the motocross world.

Ilario Ricci, owner of the team, is currently in negotiations with two other manufacturers to allow the team to continue the Ricci Racing MX2 adventure. As for drivers, it is assumed that Lupino roll next year with Kawasaki, our compatriot Nick Triest Ricci could stay home but nothing is decided now. To be continued ..."

It's cost prohibitive venture, the only reason a smart biz stops doing biz in a certain venue.
They are realizing that the KTM biz model works really well. dominate offroad sell lots of bikes to the offroad guys (older crowd more disposible income, most MX guys are kids). then get back into MX when the division has more clout, followers and a some cash to spend in MX ( the Formula 1 of offroad racing). Hate not to see the TC250 in GPs oh well.

Oh yea about MX2 in 2013 I want to see SoCals ML170 smoke the little wolf (Lupino). The Kaw is a top runner and there are no excuses for not getting podiums in 13.

unbelievable, they have a hot new bike for 2013. what they need is a marketing guy to pull some sponsorship, i wonder if the cost's were covered to race if it could have been a go.??? what makes me wonder, every factory running has always tried to get the best rider, to steal a champion away to ride their equipt, not so w husky......
