  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Must do ? for the 449/511

These bikes have been super reliable as far as i can tell. More so than about any husky. See any long threads abdout fix this or fix that or this died or ??? A few little items here and there but nothing else. My biggest worry is the battery taking a crap on the trail with no kicker. Other than that I 100% trust this steed.

Those that pin it all day long (not you or me in the NW) seem to feel there is an oil and torque limiter issue and a good informational thread Tinken is enlightening us with. Other than that, ride it.

The Clake is for sale again? Thought you LOVED it?

After my bike took a crap on Sunday. I want to be proactive. I rode Josh's 511 with the EFM and LHRB on saturday and fell in love.Did not want to give his bike back

BR1's bike wouldn't start the other day, he said it was that silly ground wire on the head. He moved it to the frame and all was well in the world and unicorns.

Add the iridium plug # is: NGK CR9EIX (3521) and XF coolant.

Any harm in running a CR8EIX? I know its one range hotter but its all I had from the TXC250. The colder plug is on its way. Im racing tomorrow and was thinking of putting the stock plug back in. Bikes loaded up in the van now so if anyone thinks i should switch it would have to be at the races. Unfortunately I didnt receive my XF coolant yet either so Im running Silkolene Pro-cool tomorrow. Going to be a cold day so I doubt anything will over heat.

Should be fine. I'll check on the XF status.
Cool. Thanks. I didnt get the XF from Ty because Danny (I think thats his name) said it would be 3 weeks until it was in. That was two weeks ago when I was ordering the tank and spring so I figured I would buy it elsewhere so I would have it on time. As my luck has it......I still wont have it in time.:banghead: Oh well.

The good news is that when it finally does arrive, you won't have to worry about it again. :)

Very true! I started the bike after putting on the JD tuner and it got pretty hot after idling while I programmed it. Do these bikes get hot quick when idling for a few minutes? I also added 250cc more oil so I am up to around 1100cc. Installed a drain line on the little nub on the bottom of the airbox just in case it pukes oil. Man......some sort of add on contraption that held extra oil would be sweet!;)
