• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Mounting problems 2013 TXC310 GPR steering stabilizer

Evel

Husqvarna
A Class
I can't get the mount to stay put on the neck... the mount keeps slipping off the frame.... which steering stabilizer will work??? The GPR folks are sort of trying to help, but it has been a month now and I want to get my bike put back together!!!

Lets start over. Here's Motosportz's on the '09 WR125.

I do remember the 'ring' rocking while trying to get it down flush on top of the steering tube.
It was rocking on one of the welds at the gusset to tube connection, not allowing it to go down.

Remove it and look around at the frame paint and inside of the ring. It's binding somewhere; you should see scratches on the paint or inside the ring indicating where it's binding. This could cause it to not go down flush and getting the correct contact to be tightened up and stay.

Depending on where it's hitting it's possible to remove a little metal with the Dremel inside the ring to provide clearance or round off the weld a 'little' to provide clearance.

I believe I did a little of both until it went down correctly and stayed put.
Also remember to check or reset your steering stops to make sure it's being stopped by these and not putting that load on the stabilizer. They are not designed to take that hit...it will knock the ring loose.

Good luck and report back...

Probably the wrong mount. I had one from Motosportz for a different Husqvarna and it would slip off when tightened down. He sent me the right one and it worked fine. Post a photo of it (bottom of the mount) and we will know instantly if you have the wrong one.

The mount won't go down far enough because the down tube and the frame are at a slight angle.... the mount itself is not at an angle nor is it sculpted to fit on an angled frame...GPR is trying to grind down a mount at an angle and hopefully it will be here on Monday to try it out.......fingers crossed...:)

Wow you'd think GPR would have this kind of thing already worked out if they are selling these to the public. Can we get some pics please? So we can all see exactly whats going on.

I'll try to get some pics up....I think the frame is at a different angle in relation to the down tube...Randy from GPR is working with me on the problem.....
