• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I am going to carry Motoz in my shop and especially interested in the Mountain Hybrid.
What other Motoz tires front and rear would work well in Eastern conditions? Example: Mud, roots, rocks, ruts...

I will probably also do Golden Tyre, but that will be a question for another day.

I like the Terrapactor front and rear but they will chunk if ridden in sharp rocks continuously. The Tractionator IT rear is fairly good all around. I haven't used the st. The X-Circuit is an interesting tire. In smaller sizes it has a very pronounced radius. The larger sizes work really well, don't chunk, and last a long time on big bores.

I still think the Golden Tire Front is the go to tire.

I'm in Oz and only used their early Tractionator. (About 5yrs ago)
I haven't gone back for another look, it would not wear out and so, did not grip.
I'm told the newer ones are better.....

Thanks guys, I am going to order some of the new Mountain Hybrid tires to try and was just wondering if any of the others were worth giving a go.

The terrapactor S/T front is my all time favorite tire, it rules in all conditions here in the PNW. I have used it on all my bikes and it holds up well. The rear has great traction and a nice progressive slide but like Walt says it chunks pretty good in rocky conditions.

Hi there wally i just joined the cafe to get in touch with you about your 165 kits , ive heard alot about them and it sounds exactly what im after. Only problem is im in australia and i dont kno how hard it would be to do an exchange , more than happy to pay postage costs if possible, would be awesome to have a chat , if you could email me i would really appreciate it, tysonv@live.com.au thanks mate.

i've tried them all and love them. For the dualsport riders who are more trail connecters than commuters, the new Moto Z DOT tires are some of the
best off road tires you can buy that are street legal. Had the ST Enduro rear on my 511 forever with over 50% tread when I recently sold it. I agree with jmetteer, the Terrapactor front has
been very good in just about everything.

Iv'e ran 2 different Motoz tires and had less than expected results. I ran an Enduro IT front and a XCircuit rear. The front was OKish but a bit squirmy and the XCircuit wore out really fast and was not good on anything wet, especially off camber wet trails. It put me on my Butt a few times.
I now am running the GT 216AA front and a 130 Michelin Competition rear with very good results in everything.
