    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

MotoZ tires 200 mile report...

I'm getting a sense that in certain situations, you just can't beat a trials tire...period. However, from what I've heard from Kelly/Jake/Scott (all of which have used both types of tires), these tires are a better all around tire and are almost as good as a trials tire where trials tires succeed the most...wet, rock, roots, logs & bolders. I am probably going to get a set for the Baja trip!
 
We have a few hills around here especially in the Port Elizabeth area. Some of them are in nice singletrack areas and others are in sand pit areas. Have you run Tri-County's enduro(The Greenbriar)?

I haven't done the Tri-County enduro but if the trails are similar to what they had at the Hammer Run, I'd like to.
Is the area you ride in Port Elizabeth legal or only open at sanctioned events? I'd really like to do some exploring up there but I don't want to ride on illegal trails and screw it up for the locals.

The trails are similar, but tighter in most sections. I don't know of any legal riding in that area. A friend of mine has some land in that general area. When he isn't available to ride, I don't ride that area.

Hey Doug, I meant to say a bit more in my response, but didn't have time. Definitely get in touch some if you want to ride around here. There are a lot of very good trails and I ride all winter. As long as it isn't raining or under 30 degrees and windy I am up for a ride.
 
Fitted Motoz 140/80/18 to rear( duh) 17th dec. this is on a 610..anyone got some Ideas as to what kind of pressure to run, to cut the wallow feel out? Currently got 20 psi? With Dunlop 952's I was used to running at.18 psi.

Wish I could help, but I'm on a 250 so I'm sure it's a whole different ball game with regard to tire pressure compared to a 610.
 
An older (last 6 months ?) Dirt rider mag had a review of these tires that I was just reading last night. It is in the pile of mags beside the bed and I can't find it at the moment to list the exact issue and need to get to work. Basically said they were really tough and long wearing and had the traction of a well-worn dunlop or bridgestone that stayed consistant from day one over the life of the tire.
 
I found the issue, Oct 2008 Dirtrider page 139. To expand on the summary "Basically said they were really tough and long wearing and had the traction of a well-worn dunlop or bridgestone that stayed consistant from day one over the life of the tire." They gave very consist amount of bite and decent sense of traction all the time, just not an impressive excess of traction. Except for one exception, the rear acted like a trials tire when hitting dry rocks as long as you weren't spinning the tire too much, but when it gets wet, watchout, they are just the oposite on the slippery side. They said the durability speaks for itself and you may not need another tire for along time, you just need to decide on how much traction you really need.

To date mine has seen mainly road useage. So far, no tearing or chunking at 100mile.( shake under 100m) It's a little bit vibratory but no worse than dunlop 952 's. I find the tyre feels "plush"? om the bitumen..sort of wallowy in corners. I try hard NOT to give too much power to the rear while on the blacktop..but 610...ohh well..i try. " very minor wear to date".:excuseme:

Fitness2go, what type and size did you get? I asked him in an email for the X Circuit in the 130/90-18 and the Tracula 90/90-21. I dont know if he is getting the Tracula though. i really want that for the front.

Thank you for the info. I do see you have the Tracula in 80/100-21. i was hoping that you had the 90/90-21. I will try it. its only about a quarter inch shorter and thinner. Hopefully it will do alright.

I'm such a friggin' retard...I put the rear tire on in the wrong direction!!! I don't have the strength to change it back...is it really that important? Also, I figured after the Baja trip, I would change it back when I got home. I'm really looking forward to seeing how well these perform and last in Baja conditions, which I have never ridden before!
