• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

MotoZ tires 200 mile report...

I, for one, am very glad to see a company finally investing in breakthrough tire technology.

So much technology goes into these wicked bikes we have today- but the tires are pretty much the same ol same ol....Esp Dunlop- (barf)

Count on my support of these wonderful products very soon.

It'll prolly also be one more thing the curious will need an explanation for when checking out the Hoosk as well... as it always bring's 'em over for a butt-sniffin'. I actually enjoy that, and, get kudos from time to time for riding it- "it's nice to see different brands out here for a change!" :thumbsup:

We'll be 'playin' way 'different' now. All the way down to the tires.

Well I don't know. Lots of people here love the S12's as well. Never my favorite tire. I think they work good but I always rip them up as they are light duty in comparison. For some reason I flat those a lot and also rip knobs off. That said I think these work as good or better for me and seem indestructible. Don;t get a lot of sand here but might go to an area this weekend that is all sand / pumice sand type stuff. I think they will do great there. Seem to be very versatile working in deep grass loam, roots, logs, slick clay, baked clay, rocks, gravel. The X-circuit on my bike has been very accommodating and predictable on everything so far.

Did you do any sand riding? Report? Wondering about the deep sand stick farms of south jersey.
 
When you get a chance a snow report would be appreciated. My trials tires did not do well in snow...
 
I'll get my first ride in tomorrow. It'll be nice to ride with some knobs again. My stock Michelin Enduro Competion III's were practically a slick with around 920 miles on them.

good stuff,,,, one thing,,,, I love 140 rears for offroad and thought my last set of %%%&&**s were to be a 140 rear,,,but they don't sell in US so I settled for the 130,,,sounds like these are a winner and the oz guys got it dialed in!! good show motosportz!!
 
Here is what I went with:
Tractionator Enduro
02-120-090-18 120/90-18
Tractionator XCircuit
04-080-100-21 80/100-21

I wanted to go with the XCircuit but they don't have the 120 here yet. The Enduro may actually be better for where I am riding, but this combo was my only choice for those sizes. I can't stop looking at them!

Good Grief:eek:That tire on the left looks downright dangerous. The one on the right looks great! Probably my next tire since my trials tire on the ice covered terrain were a problem.

Sorry, been away from the computer. Late nights at work and a sinus headache has been keeping me away. I did 40 miles a week and a half ago. Covered a wide variety of terrain, some pavement, lots of intermediate to loose terrain with some fire roads and some deep sand. So far I love them big time. Climbing hills is whole different experience now. In fact, I looped it at the top of a hill because as you can see in my earlier pic, I am not used to traction and I had my weight back too far to be giving it a lot of throttle on a hill climb. Survived just fine though and really love it. Also, the wheel comes up a bit easier now that the tire hooks up!

Funny, that's how I felt after going to this trials tire (Pirelli MT43) in the roots/rocks on this side of the continent. Acts a little loose in the drier stuff with gravel. I was giggling at slippery uphills that had caused me much f-bombing the previous ride with the enduro comp III's. Really makes a difference depending on your terrain. Great, now I"m going to have to look at another type of tire 'cause people like 'em. Might be good for a Baja type ride, yes?

Gandalf, you live in NJ.........what hills? :)

I just ordered the same MotoZ tire combination that you have and I'm excited to try them out. BTW, I think I met you at the Hammer Run. I was the old slow guy on the TE250.

Yes, I remember you from the Hammer run. That was a blast! We have a few hills around here especially in the Port Elizabeth area. Some of them are in nice singletrack areas and others are in sand pit areas. Have you run Tri-County's enduro(The Greenbriar)? That's a great run and there are a few nice hills in there too. Don't get me wrong, we don't have anything that takes more than a few seconds to get up, but they are up:D
 
I like the Motoz alot! I'm currently running a 140 H/T rear and a 21" H/T front. I can't really add anymore to what's already been said other than I think the 140 H/T is a bit much for the 610. I'm changing to a 130 H/T when weather breaks as I believe it's better suited for the size machine I have.

Nothing against the 140, it's just a TANK of a tire IMO, and we'll see how it works out on a friends 990 pumpkin bike. It's construction and weight are very heavy duty, not to mention it was a bear to mount.

Hi Mike,

When are you planing on monting up and rideing on the 130??
 
I think I know the answer, but how do the Motoz's compair to a Trials Tire at least on the rear. Can I expect the same level of effort less traction in the rear?
