• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I'm just installing my Motosportz Damper on my 08 TE450 and I noticed there is a little slop where the pin slides in to the holder. Is this normal? The front tire can go back and forth a couple of inches without moving the damper.

Also only half of the pin is in the holder, it looks like it should go in more. I guess I could bend the arm down a bit.

+1 The people at Motosprtz are great people and are certainly better equiped to help you out than most of us on the forum.

I'm pretty sure the pin slides up and down. If it's only half way in you may not have it installed right.
If there is a problem rest assured Kelly will tend to your issue with the highest priority.

I believe Motosportz is closed for the week now so I won't get help until next week.

I stacked some washers under the aluminum part that the pin slides in to, and I bent the arm slightly. The pin is 2/3 of the way in now, and it doesn't wiggle as much. The damper sits a little higher on the TE model because the speedo bracket mounts between it and the triple tree.

Honestly something bothers me about the chosen title - seems a little harsh considering the nature of the issue... maybe I'm being too sensitive...

At least temporarily changing the name unless someone objects.

I wasn't trying to be negative, I was just stating the actual problem in the title. I could of used the term "excessive clearance" instead of sloppy.

If Motorsportz had their phone number on their web site, this post wouldn't be necessary.

I didnt see a problem with it, it is what it is... no biggie.

;)

I'm scared. :)

I thought your title make sense.

Hey, as long as a company stands behind their product, I'm happy.

title and post was fine:cool:
nobody can make every parts perfect every time.:banghead:

Kelly took the opportunity and made a defect into a positive customer service support isssue:thumbsup:

This post is from 08. :excuseme:

Yeah, and as I recall there was a whole lot going on back then. I don't recall the particulars but obviously I was overly concerned about something.

Maybe lock the thread to avoid confusion?

I could move that question to a new thread.

I've been thinking about when this happened. The forum was less than a month old, Kelly had just become our first sponsor, I think I was still a moderator on TT at the time.

I was working non-stop 7 days a week trying to make this site as good as it could be. In addition I was the only person behind the scenes and was still learning how to use the software. The color of the forum was still blue and we didn't even have any custom smilies.

The amount of pressure was *huge* and clearly I'm not perfect, I do apologize. I endeavor to improve.

In any event, so this thread does not get woken up again, I will lock it.
