  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Yipee Kiayee I got one I got one. About time Husky got some kudos. That is great news.

This forum is very cool. I was born and raised ridding / racing hondas. My lil 310 to date is my favorite bike ever owned-the comfort and responce remind me of a 96 cr 250 i used to own.

so what will they say

about the 310 2011?
husqvarna just fixed the 2 "problems" - fuel tank and weight.
But honestly, it's another bike, totaly different.

I find it a little suspect that this article picks BMW for several awards and then Husky too. And picking a BMW over the YZ450 for most innovative bike is just dumb.

And KTM as the top MX bike. It is interesting for sure.

Well, my opinion? (Who G'sAF right?) :)

You could have picked probably any one of the following and it would have been a good choice for best off road bike:
Husky 310 (which they did)
Husa 390
KTM 300 or 450
GasGAs 250
or 2-3 more like the new beta even

For Dual Sport, they could have picked the:
Yamaha 250 (which they did)
KTM 690
Husky 630
and a few more

With most bikes today, they are pretty darn good and it is so subjective as to what is best. Yeah it looks a little loaded maybe towards BMW, but these are good bikes and that Yamaha is a decent Dual Sport, all though not as good as other options maybe. Atleast it is not the usual Honda/Suzuki/Kawasaki etc.....

You could pick alot of different bikes in each of the categories and you would get folks that agree and disagree.

I certainly agree with the choice for best dirtbike!:busted:

Pretty fair and accurate assesment firebolter. Just Husky's turn or we increased advertising.
