• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

My sister was a huge motocross/Rickey Johnson fan in the mid-1980's. She got to know Johnson and has three autographed race jersey's he gave her after Hollister & Hangtown. Anyway, she was going through her pictures last winter and made this youtube video. Petty Cool.
Check out the old race vans and how they washed after the races.....

very cool****************************************!! must have been pretty special to be out where they were all battling it out! track looks fast

Thanks! She took these photo with a Minolta Maxim camera at 16 (she is 40 now). Most of the photo's are from Hangtown. All in 1986, Hangtown 125/500 National, Hollister 125/500 National , Magoo Benefit and a few of San Diego Supercross.

Great Video! Brought tears to my eyes. Great songs! I can see why at 16 your sister liked Rick Johnson! That shower scene would do it if your a girl. LOL ****************************************

Yes,very cool. Mostly 500 Nationals, too.

BTW- You sister wasn't one of the Rad-N-Bad girls, was she?

Yes, 500 nationals at Hangtown and Hollister (125-500). In the pictures you see Erik Kehoe, Micky Dymond and Willie Surrat, all 125 racers at the time. She was also big fans of them. But, RJ was the man for her. He was really cool and treated her very nice, and sat next to her and looked through both of her scrap books, after the race and autograph signing! Boy times have changed.

No, she was just a big fan and loved motocross (I think more the racers..) She just walked up and started talking to Ricky. He could see she was a big fan and would give her race jersey's for her support. RJ gave her three jersey's, Hangtown 125-500 national, 500 USGP at Hollister and the national at Hollister (all in 1986). She still has them, dirt and all.

For everything else... Mastercard.

Absolutely Priceless.

My vote for thread of the year.
