  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Moose Air Filter Question

Just got an extra Moose air filter for my 09 TC 450..the rubber mounting hole is sewn in way off centered compared to the Twin Airs. It's at the top of the filter instead of in the middle. Just wondering if I received a bad filter or if all the Moose's were like this. It should still work but it looks funny.

moose fer my 07 aint like that. dont sound right. gotta comparo pic? cant imagnie that would work base on yer script.

Here's a pic. It's part # 1011-0458. I just wanted to make sure it was wrong before I tried to return it.

They're great. They fit into the airbox easier than the twinair and filter skins fit over them too.

The Moose filters are awesome! Easier to squeeze into the airbox because of the angle they are designed with and the neoprene seal needs no grease. You'll get the hang of it as you do it more often. I, too, install the bolt before slipping the filter between the subframe on the right side. If you take your time you should be able to do it without removing the battery from the tray. Tight fit!

Mine just did not last ... I'm not necessarily a fan of the smaller filters unless you use the skin over it ... But then that depends alot on UR riding conditions ...

But I did find out you can use a needle and thread to sew the filter seems or holes back up ... I'll look like a big Frankenstein scare, but seals off OK I think ...
