• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Just when you thought congress had nothing better to do than "reform" your Health Care, a New York Congressman has introduced HR9125, a bill that if passed, would close 9.4 million acres of YOUR public land.

Included in this enormous land grab is the very popular Moab, UT recreation area.

In this bill that would close the land from the people instead of for the people, all motorized recreation will cease, even bicycles would be banned!

Read about it here, then click the "issues and legislation" hyperlink providing your zip code, which will trigger an editable email to your state representitive.

Do it NOW. It comes up for debate next Thursday Oct. 1st.

This congress is ridiculous,:censored: they have already shut down 26 million acres this year. They are even closing it to mountain bikes.:banghead:

Get off your butts and send it.:professor:

Nothing I can do from here in the UK but you totally have my moral support. We have similar problems, though the land areas involved are somewhat smaller...

So how many people are actually calling, or even emailing?

This is the end of off road riding as we know it.

I send my thoughts on every one of these land grab issues. Of Montana's 3 total congressmen(2 dem senators,1 rep representative) we only have one vote that is pro use. Both of our senators send me Siera Club appologist replies that are completely out of touch with their constituents. 2012 will be the year of the congressional recall on these assssholes.
