• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Mirrors...Whaddaya Got?

The bar ends that come with them are the same 7/8" as the handlebars all the way til they start the downward bend, so the clamps will work on the bars themselves, just had to slide the lever mounts in from the grips to leave a little gap for them.

As long as they're still 7/8" just inside the grips/switches, which they should be.

Yeah you're correct there, just did a bit more reading and the bar ends should be the same so I shouldn't have any problem. Just looking around now for some mirrors that I can mount on the inside on my bars rather than the ends (just in case I decide to buy some hand guards).

Should work just fine for that.

I don't understand how you did that? Did you buy a separate clamp or something to mount them that way? All the bar end mirrors I've looked as have the bolt on the end that slides into the bar end and then tightens it up. Am I missing something??

P.S. I never get tired of looking at your (almost) blacked out Husky :D

The bar ends insert into the bars and tighten down with a wedge nut.

The mirrors then clamp onto the bar ends with a separate clamp.

All you have to do is throw out the bar ends/bolts/nuts (or use them as bar sliders til you get your handguards) and mount the mirror clamp to the bars themselves instead.

God damn, that's too easy not to do! To Ebay I go, thanks!

EDIT: Yes, I do see the clamp, and those clamps come with all bar end mirrors; correct?

Awesome, I'm going to have a look for some right now. I've read that many bar end mirrors vibrate pretty awful and make it hard to use them. I guess it will be kind of trial and error; good thing most of them are under $20 for the pair.

Haha, no problem, but I paid about that for my first set with free shipping from Amazon...

I would have ordered from amazon, but I don't have a credit card (weird eh?) so I wanted to order from somewhere I could use PayPal. I found a couple other sets on there for about the same price as these and free shipping; but they would have been coming from China and probably would have taken a month to get to me.

As long as these work I have no problem paying a little extra!

Lost one of my stock mirrors in a tumble the other day and am looking at some stock KTM mirrors from the 690 Enduro. Any opinions out there?
