• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

After seeing threads about millage, I had to figure out what my 630 was getting . My mods are the usaul .. pu,air box mod, jd tuner, fmf pipe and running premium gas . On the off road tires , gearing 15/45 . Mainly gravel running with a bit of off roading pushing the bike hard ... 38mpg. On my motard wheels ... gearing 15/40 , Fairly civil riding ... not pushing at all ... 48mpg . I thought it was much worse ....but I am very happy with those numbers considering the performance of the bike.

Anyone else getting those numbers with the same mods ??

I have similar mods and that's about what I get. Didn't realize SM wheels gave you so much better mileage.

Have you re-calibrated your odometer for the smaller diameter SM wheels and tires? If not that would explain the approximate 25% increase in mileage.

It's the civil riding, not the tires that are boosting his mileage. And/or failure to recalibrate the speedo... :)

Not possible with the 630. Once you set your wheel size on the gauge cluster, there's no changing it. The only way to do that is to buy a second gauge cluster and swap it out when you swap wheels. I have a SM gauge cluster on hand; just no SM wheels.

Nope no mistakes ...I use my I phone gps when my motard wheels are on for speed and distance .It's called riding normal just to see how well the bike can do .

Rear sprocket size could be contributing to better gas mileage as well.
