  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st Mikuni needle ?

3dhunt

Husqvarna
A Class
Can someone tell me the difference in these two needles. 6AEJ1-64 6AEJ3-64. My wxc seems a little rich off the bottom and midrange. I have the first number installed with the clip in #2 slot from the top. The second # is the stock needle. Running a 430 main, 35 pilot and 4.0 slide with an fmf and no airbox lid. elevation at 1950ft. Runs good on top end.

thats where i would start, along with the pilot for bottom end. hard to tell without riding the bike..but the needle will have next to nothing to do with bottom end usually. thats mostly a mid range adjustment. where the circuits overlap it get dicey

1st off the 6AE J1 - 64 is the stock part a J4 is from others
what is your altitude and temp.
assuming the 96 250WXC

can I borrow some $$$$ lol Trying to get the rest of the bike sorted out then I might consider a Lectron. My brother had one on a 80 model 390 auto and loved it.

when i started building my 360, i wanted to give the mikuni a chance as my older mikuni vm carbs were easy to tune, altho they did change a bit with temp, nothing drastic. it soon became apparent that it was a rob-peter-to-pay-paul situation. i did get the tmx very close. started and ran good. had a bit of a bobble around the powervalve transition i couldnt shake. i know it could probably be jetted out i just decided to try a lectron and wow they are fun to tune. i will say i believe they increase top end as well. the list of benefits is quite long and one or two will likely end up on my older hoosks as well.
