• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Meet Eli Tomac

Ray, it was epic!
I've watching him build up and build up since he came back into the MX season ... That collar bone crash really set him back for this season ...

Maybe I can see the race tonight ...

He was with-in 1 rider(KR94) of being only the 3rd rider to win a MXdN moto on a 250 bike ...

So I got to watch moto1, crazy race :). I really wonder how much Tomac messes with Roczens head. Roczen has been on top for a good while now, trains with Villapoto, practices with Dungey, and now here comes the guy that ruined 250's for him that was a non issue for awhile :). Seemed like Roczen broke down after that last pass

Ray, it was epic! Check out Moto 1:

wowo ...450Eli has arrived .. Langston called Eli relentless. :)

Gotta watch moto 2 now...

Eli should get a bonus check from some honda VP for removing the orange crew from the top ...

Arrived? He won a championship last year over Roczen. I think this was largely expected. It sure was from me.

He probably made $100,000 for removing the orange crew from the top step. Most top racers have a $100,000 bonus per win written into their contracts.

Too bad about the late start to the outdoors for Tomac. But, he does seem to be making a serious charge.

Now that we're on break, everybody head out to Cahuilla Creek to watch these guys practice!

Eli is certainly adding to the championship race ... Here's a few words from him ..

250cc riders, even champions, don't always make it back to top when they move up to the 450s... It may be a yr or 2 but I think this guy is gonna be a 450 champ also... At the least, he'll be a player running up front unless bad luck hinders him...

Aside from the racing action, Tomac was officially named to the Motocross des Nations team that will compete in Latvia later this year. It’s the second straight appearance for Tomac on Team USA.

“We have a score to settle,” he said. “Second place last year didn’t sit that well with us, so we’ll go over there and try to bring it back to the USA. I haven’t done much research yet but I hear the track we’re racing over there is a lot like Millville (Minn.). I sure hope that’s true because I love dirt like that.

“It’s an honor to represent your country and I’m happy to be racing with Ryan Dungey and Jeremy Martin this year.” --

I'm down with this young man :)

The kid is a champ. If not for that spill at the MXdN last year he would have won the moto.

Yep and I hope to watch his career play-out in front of me for the next 5 yrs, with another page this weekend?

Eli is really keeping the racing weird for KR94 ... It's almost like KR94 has gotta whip Eli and RD5 to be the champ now ... Almost like Eli is RD5s' wingman ... We've got the bike brand angle going, and the nationality thing going, and the team mates thing going with 3 top classy riders that can handle all this in the proper manner. I should try and watch this weekends' racing by getting off the couch and making an effort to find it on cable somewhere ... Its gonna be that good.
