• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

As some of you might have noticed I haven't been around much. If you Emailed me you got a auto response you probably were not expecting. Its time I spill the beans for those that care. I have run three successful businesses in the last 20 years. Its been fun. That said a few months ago I was offered a position at Trail Tech (trailtech.net) which is a much larger company than most know. I have known the owner for about 15 years through the industry, through Fastway, as a a dealer for them and as a dirtbike rider (he is a very talented rider). Anyway we spoke a while back and he offered me a position I could not refuse. It was a hard decision for me personally as I love what I was doing with Motosportz but was also somewhat burnt out on everything it takes to be in business for yourself. It was a great run but feel it was time to change gears. So for almost the last 2 months I have been the global marketing manager for them as well as doing many other things. I feel this is a great fit for me and will be closing down Motosportz for now. I will continue to support my damper customers for maintenance and such but kinda need to wind everything else down as I cant support both and Trail Tech needs my full attention.

THANK YOU ALL FOR EVERYTHING.

I really appreciate how awesome my customers have been, the interaction here on CH and everything about the industry. I very happy I am now even more involved in the industry and can continue to do what I love.

I will have limited time to play on CH but will still be here and like the crowd as always. I wish you all the best.

- Lectron carb guys, please call them directly, they rule and have all the settings and configurations we built together and can provide you with one amazing carb.

- 165 kit guys. I need to speak with Walt and how he wants to handle this. I'm sure there is an EZ solution for that.

- Motosportz customers. I'm still here at the same Email. Might not be uber responsive but am here to support my products as I can. I have a good pile of damper maintenance parts and will do my best to support all that as well.

Thanks for everything,
Kelly

BTW I'll post about my new KTMs and eat some major crow in doing so as I found a 2015 KTM300 with PDS is very much to my liking and has upped my game.

the new job has some killer bennies...

Good job. Thats so awesome you landed a great job for a great company. I'm gonna miss your post's with all the bike you save. You have been a great contributor to this site and I am sincerly happy for you and your family. Good luck my friend, stay safe.

Good Luck with your new endeavor, enjoyed doing business with you. Folks at TT are awesome, even fixed my computer for me when the speedo wire broke, it was only a couple years old.

Congrats, and good luck with your new adventure! Hopefully it is full of all the great parts of being in this industry without any of the downs of running your own business.

Wow I missed this news. Kelly I wish the best for you. I hear you loud and clear on the "own business" deal. I've been self employed since 1989 and sometimes i too wish for the simpler money making days of working for someone else. I then have to slap myself back into reality and know I wouldn't make as much money and would most likely get fired for saying whats on my mind :). Again all the best and don't be a stranger here. Later, John

Thanks, your reviews marvelous! I bought my 04 Tc 450 based a little on your review- maybe more than a little, plus local dealer was still small and actually new his product. I currently ride a 2015 ktm 300xcw- as well as my 04 tc450, still gotta love affair with the husky, even though I am much faster on the 300 as I now wait on some that used to blow me away. Thanks again, and please keep the reviews coming.

Congrats on the job with TT, Kelly! I'm sure there is plenty of "testing" required with it as well;).

I haven't been around much the last few years due to life stuff and retirement however, I've finally been able to get back to the bike a little bit more each day this month. It's got a ton of Motosportz DNA on it! Damper, F/R disc guards, awesome beat up skid plate, fork bleeders, a pile of those good Moose air filters, Motoz tires. Good memories associated with all of it! Lovin my TT Voyager as well:thumbsup:

Take care!

Greg
