    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

This may sound crazy, but....
We have 2 txc 250's...one (mine) is an 09, the other (son's) is a 2011 (12 ignition and 12 pt). In reality they are both his, I just get to "borrow" one when I need one. Granted, the 11 is superior as far as weight and throttle response goes, but I much prefer the 09 for the riding I do (enduros mostly). I kept thinking I'll get me a 12 txc, but after riding the 11 quite a bit, I think I'll hang on to the 09....what's wrong with me?
 
Nothing at all. If the shoe fits wear it. I typically run bikes for years. That is usually how long it takes to m/old them to your liking.
 
Lots of people in general think minor upgrades to their equipment, for whatever hobby (bike , ski / snowboard) will transform their skills. I ski alot, and see it all the time with newcomers. They buy new equipment every year thinking it'll change all the problems they had - when usually it just creates different problems.

It's like me vs any avid dirt rider. I have a 2010 TE 250. Been riding for a few years. But if I'm riding with a buddy who has been on dirt all his life, and he rides a 2004 or even older dirt bike with same stroke / engine size - guarenteed he'll make me look like I'm the one using ancient gear/equipment.

Practice is more important then gear, to a certain extent, in most circumstances IMO.

Don't go ride one of the newer WR250 or 300 2t machines ... You'll come to grips quickly on why these bikes are still around after all these yrs and you'll also understand why these bikes are the chosen weapons for some top riders for the top enduro races around the world today.

My 08 WR250 is a great all-around bike ... Mine is doing well on track and trail and probably stock everywhere ...
 
Old school??? You need to be riding a smoker like ray-ray said. Absolutely love my 09 WR250. I was brought up on smokers in the 70s.
 
Totally agree and miss my smokers...might have to look into that again, but need e start due to knee injury.
 
I've ridden about every model they have come out with in the last few years, I'll keep my 2006 TE250 - it just feels right to me.
