• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Been itching to get back over there and see what the terrain is doing ... And on the 250 2t bike ... It has no problem with the size of the hills and soft dirt as compared to my 250cc 4t bikes ...The 4t bikes will probably go just as fast out there but you are gonna have to work them much harder than the 2t bike ... Might not be related but after a couple rides here, one 250 4t bike when belly up ...

This is that initial junction rd where we turn south and head towards Manunggal ... looking really dangerous here .... You could slide down that hill and survive but you will know you are on the express elevator going down.Manunggal_EntrySlide_result.jpg

Here's the entry point for this new road .. looks really bad here and these guys are gonna have to burn more diesel to get this junction safe..

Stopping at Ninja Point for a rest and it pretty obvious there are too many slides on the low side already and I'll ~never make it all the way to the mountain and over to the crash site this trip.

Here's the ride out to the blocking point ... I know better than to drive into gnarly places without checking them first on foot, so when I was sitting on that slide and had to roll-back out, I felt pretty foolish... That is also an example of me running out of gas ... The work it took to get the back turned around drained about 1\2 my tank ... Didn't seem that bad but I was starting to hurt and wanted out of there.

I was trying to rest on the way back out and regain some strength that was lost ....

The ContourRoam hangs upside down on my helmet now and you get a little better view and you can see all clutching is manual ... Somehow, the audio is even worst so maybe I'll make an adjustment there.

Made a few passes up and down the road and went back and walked over the slide I was blocked .... That opposite side was doable but I ~never take chances like that out there alone... I ~never should have even rode up to the top of the slide the first time ... It's all pretty steep around there but not a free-fall to death ... There are people out there, but they are starting to get scarce here ..
