  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Magura clutch alternatives?!-TE510 2008

Husqvarna
Hey guys, so I've been having a lot of problems for about 2months+ plus now and I've had enough I just wanna ride my bike!

I need a new magura hydraulic clutch master cylinder, I have not being able to get one anywhere in Australia and I have rang around pretty much every husky dealer there is,
There saying it's going to be atleast another 2 months before il see one.

Does anyone have and idea on what my options are, or what clutches will work on my bike,
I've been told magura clutches came on ktm aswell.

My clutch has the decompression lever setup.
It's 9.5mm size.

Any help would be appreciated guys, cheers.

Here's a picture of my setup.

How about switching to a Brembo master? My TC450 has a Magura and my TXC250 has a Brembo. If you switch you'll need to thoroughly flush the line and the slave, perhaps need to change the X ring(s) on the slave piston, as the Brembo unit (on mine) uses brake fluid and not mineral/baby/fork oil like the Magura.

Just a thought.

Does the brembo set up have a decompression lever mate?
Also there is a plug that goes to the clutch system on mine telling the bike when the clutch is engaged and when it is disengaged, from what I am been told from husky dealers I don't have much option but to stick with the magura set up..

Just use any one that is a magura. You have an auto decompressor on the cam, so no need for manual....also you have no kickstarter....

Right?

otherwise this is what you need? year and model correct...

Are you sure it has auto decompression mate? If so how come they have manual aswell?
It does have a kick starter , but that magura one on eBay could be an option, looks similar just no lever, i would like to leave it how it's meant to be. But I'm hanging for a ride so something like that could be the go for now

the magura you have (OEM) has a bunch of features (decomp, safety switch, and mirror mount). You can get by without any of them- you can also swap over your "decomp" by swapping the cover to your new one. You can swap over the mirror clamp too. If you buy the same basic magura model. The Clutch safety switch can be disconnected- you just have to connect the 2 wires that run back to your computer. Finding a Magura master cylinder without the safety switch will be much easier.

Swapping over to these clutches will require you to do the same with your clutch safety switch- most people disconnect and over ride it anyway- one less thing to leave you stranded.
