• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Magnificent 7

Lol. Can't help ya. :D

Figures!

Looks like I found one that needs a cut cut here and a cut cut there......

Having them get the size. I'm only concerned about OD diameter. Also, I might have one I can borrow from me Maico. I forgot it has a thin round silencer.

So I might be business for Fox Bike Snail Pipe.

Neighbors had one on there Elsinore 125 back in day and it was trick.

Here we go! Scored this off an old CZ. Suppose to be 2inches outside diameter.

It will be perfect for the snail pipe for Fox Bike.

I need to change the inlet from an outward funnel to inward, then weld it directly to my pipe.

From what I had taped together the other weekend. This is going to be one bad ass pipe. Don't think I ever saw one on 80's Husky's. Plus going to be louder than sheet!

Silencer should land between shifter and front of cylinder exhaust outlet, few inches in front of my motocross boot.

Here begins the makings of the snail piper!

Got the silencer and it is 2" diameter. Got it cut and all cleaned up. Had a screw in it to repack it as well. It will be perfect in size to come back down along cylinder.

Stalled right now till rest of parts show up and hoping to finish next weekend.

I find that welding these are very therapeutic for your neck. You should try it!

snail pipe on this thing is going to be insane!

I think I'm going to slant it some rather than straight back down? You guy's thoughts?

If I go straight down I'm also going to angle silencer in some.

I have to shave bout inch off silencer yet....... Either way!

But really! How bad ass is this piper?

That's like fitting 10lbs of sh@# in 5lb bag. Whatever would give you the most ground clearance and boot clearance. Looks sick no matter how you do it. Was wondering if straight vertical with horizontal silencer but might not be enough room tip of silencer would need a turn down or out.

This is shortened silencer in line with cylinder.

Plenty of boot clearance and even with frame?

Just tack welded.

Figure I'd come off motor mount with removable isolator bracket.

I angled the silencer to run true with case.

I also ran pipe lil further below and up higher to help build some bottom end.

i think following the same angle as the stock pipe, keeping the same "look" from a distance will look best. kind of like your pics showing it more vertical.
