• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Magnificent 7

Here is a thought? I found a pair of modern fork leg protectors ( Forks Sliders), like the new bikes that will basically bolt on the vintage 40 mm forks. All I need to do is weld one lug on? Yes, that pair is available in yellow or white.
Would need to cut a slot for the front brake arm to pass through and make a bracket to move front brake cable holder out.
The tips of the fork sliders land even with top of fork wiper.

Hmmm, could put a set of modern graphics on them?

I taped a set of white ones on and they look pretty good.

Here are the final fork legs.

Just got done spraying them.

I like the first version better. And I agree with another comment posted earlier, too many Husky references on the fork legs, just does not look right to me IMHO.

Sheet! I put them on backwards!

Heck getting old!

Adam! I was just teasin! There is a reason why I did those forks that way. But you guys is gonna have to wait!

We gonna turn things up a notch soon.

You have crazy skills, but I'm not sold on the forks. Not a fan of the sideways husky gunsight logo and the duplication of the husky name in line with the raised stock husky lettering on the legs. Would have liked to seen a tire sponsor at the bottom, Metzler, Dunlop...just sayin:popcorn:

Typpy not forgot all your logos. There is a method to the madness, but I not give too much away.

In other words the wheels have been turning.

These are some of logos going on bike:

Maxima, cause the stuff still smells like Castrol R!

Magura, levers and grips that tear your hands up!

Pirelli, yep set of Pirelli's going on bike. Found a set of Trelleborg's but not for the price!

Twin air, who not forget the sticky stuff!

Scott, yep had several pairs, still do and who didn't have one of those face masks? Actually, I was a Joffa guy!

WER Off-road Suspension, Drew the man for Vintage Husky Ohlins, Forks and Mods! But we are going to give him a break on the Suzuki years!

Bell, well they prob best in the day to protect your noggin! But a guy found out that they aren't so good when I jumped over a ravine and he was coming up the other side and my foot peg hit him in the helmet! He said his ears were still ringing after the race.

Hi Point, who not have a pair of these? I wish a still had couple pairs of their six day glasses!

Fox, we used to have big fox sticker on back window of the Ford race van!

EK chain, this gonna be on bike!

Hall's Cycles, they are still great at chasing down parts for me! Especially Raymond!

MSR, gotta honor Malcom

I think you guys are going to be quite surprised at the outcome of this bike. I have the whole thing pictured in my head, but sometimes when you go to bolt stuff on, you have to change directions some.

I will not be surprised if some day somewhere, a kid might try to reproduce it.

So sit tight cause I'm doing some stuff behind scenes.

You not get to see it all till sheet comes off on the stand some day! But it gonna be one bad puppy!

i say go for metzelers ( i love the uni-cross), it is too bad about trelleborg but i thought there was a company who purchased their molds? the tenmaster was similar to the metzeler uni. nothing wrong with pirelli though.

as for the hi-points i still use them. love those boots.

i like where you are going, like a works bike. i have to say i think it would tie in better with a gold anodized fender brace. the tank graphics i was unsure of at first but they have really grown on me. the lines are super sharp on it as well, i would be sick denting that thing..

Will you adopt me so I can hang out in your garage? I love learning how you do this stuff!

The Trelleborg's and Barum's are now under Mitas Tires. Mx1 in Canada usually stocks them but are out of inventory.
Up to my last Husky, I still ran them. That Trelleborg Ten Master just bites. Shame these aren't popular any more but I think they are still some of best tires for Harescrambles.
I am waiting for a set for my 310 and they are to email me when they are in stock. I have fairly new set of Pirellis I was going to take off and put on this bike.
I have recently heard of others liking the Metzler Unicross, so you are one more that gives good feed back on them.
Just wish they had some 17 rears.
I think you guys will really like how bike will turn out. Once I get further along, really gonna need some imput. I think the fender brace is going caputs, for the fender I have coming. I have been trying lots of different stuff. Some of it is pretty neat and should make the bike sleek and bad.

+1 more for Unicross. Been running them for a long time....but I must admit...it's been a while for me since I had one on my bike

unicross...they are also somehow DOT approved. they seem to keep their traction well as the tire wears. ive had about 6 or 7 of them. the one on my 360 really took a beating this summer, wide open powervalve open on rocky trails and they dont seem to mind much

Ok here is what rear hub and sprocket gonna be!

Just got these delivered from anodizer that did my rims.

He did great job on the Magura levers as well.

I used that anodized blue paint previously just to see how color looked. But that just don't hold up very good.
