    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanx! Yes, those were some good cars but I don't think I have the patience to restore any more muscle cars.
 
No, 1 was enough 4 me... the driving experience is also a little below todays cars so you need to retro your thinking.
 
Here are pics of the Paint chip chart from Eastwood Auto. This is the one to order from them. It matches most of your husky tank colors (250, 430, you name it. I use this in many cases to go to local paint store to scan/cross over in their chip books. I usually, just get a small pint of base coat. On some of these you have to buy the whole gallon and I don't need all that paint sitting around along with expense. Colors are better when this chart is in your hands.

Even look @ the copper. It matches up to Ohlins copper, etc.......

I am really impressed with the KBS Diamond Clear. In fact that is my choice from now on for all frames over base coat. My plans are to prime frame lightly, base coat, KBS clear with small wide artist brush down in hard to reach webbing gussets, then shoot the rest of frame with my touch up gun.

Couple of tips on KBS Diamond Clear.

Oh, don't get this KBS stuff on your hands, cause you have to wear it off!

Clean your lid and groove on can with their KBS Thinner. Also, put some Saran wrap between lid and can before sealing lid. If any of that coating gets between lid/can. It basically glues the lid to can and I had to literally destroy a lid with vice grips prying it off.

I also use and have had good luck down in your crank webbings with their KBS Rust Seal. I use the Satin black.

I beed blast webbings, clean and brush 2 coats of this stuff on ( I spray it on the outer cases with my touch up gun). Sand between coats. This stuff just digs into the Magnesium. I then cover KBS with VHT satin high heat paint. KBS Rust seal is good to 600 degrees. Again, you get this on you and you will wear it for a week.

Ok, This is bike 3 of 5 coming down the line (Might have to number them, starting to loose track, which is which). I was hoping to get the other 2 frames yet painted, but only prepped in primer. This is the 82 XC 125. I forgot that this bike must have come off the trailer, because the handlebar end and end of rear frame was ground down really good. I used my tig welder and filled, ground, filed and sanded the rear frame. It took longer than expected but you can't tell it was fixed.

Would like to get last 2 frames and last tank shot this coming weekend. Used the new KBS Diamond clear on this frame and had great results.

Hi Darin,

Any chance you might have a "rider tank" for an 83/84CR?
I have a friend who needs one. It doesn't have to be freshly painted and a few small dents would be fine.

Not yet, she is scheduled for evening on October 10th.

I did get the 390 frame painted/cleared last night. Hopefully get the 250 frame shot tonight and have to shoot the 250 tank over this weekend. Try to post some pics on Monday.

Starting to think these look like a Husky Flash Mob Coming. But they ain't singing yet.

Getting off the subject. Here is where it all started on a Lil Suzuki TM 100.

Later I moved to the 81 CR 250 and the 82 CR 430. Cr 430 was the best bike and later painted it blue/white like the 83 ish models. Here I am racing the Florida Harescramble Series. That bike either got you into trouble or got you out of it on the gas.

Then I eventually went with the 87 430 CR. Loved that bike as well. This is a Harescramble in Kansas. Bike was sitting in my shed for several years. I wiped the cobwebs off the bike, did the chain and air filter. I put fresh gas in it and it fired right up. Took 1st that day. Thought to my self maybe I need 3-5 year breaks from racing, cause I actually do better.
