• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Just a Rough in so far of the new back brake lever.

Not sure if I will polish it with orange anodized tip or gun kote it in black with an orange anodized tip.

That's some very high quality work Dartyppyt! Your attention to detail is amazing, I don't think I'd be able to ride that bike for fear of marking the beautiful workmanship!

I'd love to see your future build in the backgound? 79 Maico, what cc's is it?

Just a sample of what my swingarm will look like when polished up.

Beauty before age or age before beauty but there is some beauty hidden in it.

Thanx Mista Brown!

dartyppyt,
Do you mind saving me the re-read of 93 wonderful pages... what is the source of that swingarm?

Picklito,

That swingarm was countless hours of watching ebay for something close that I could machine and change some things around, to make it fit to my Husky. It was close as far as front inner and outer front yoke measurements, length, axle width, etc......

I cannot find a match what so ever in pics on internet. It did have the snail adjusters in rear. I’m about 90% sure that it was made for a Can Am with shorter travel shocks. The front chain slider when bottomed out on shocks, rubbed it by the pivot, from chain.

It was very well made and the shape of the aluminum is unique and 1/4 inch thick, but hollow inside.

Some folks say! What you put into it, is what you get out of it!

Here is swingarm so far! Better put your sunglasses on!

In my case! What I’m putting into it, is what I’ll never get out of it!
