• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Magnificent 7

looking the goods allright! i got a spin in a back seat of p51 a few years ago. the pilot was an ex "roulettes" pilot, the raaf aerobatics team...man he put that plane in every possible orientation with g forces to match!! was unreal.

Dang you would post a rim. Got a set of rims from SMpro in Uk did not use them until now. Spoked the front in 40 mins( but not trued yet) - and yes the rear is wrong
someone sent a wrong drill pattern. Hours thinking i was wrong. Nope its wrong. Nightmare

Name of Company is Central wheel. The sm rims are the ones that came on KTMs and made of 7075 grade, nice but inexpensive also. But hard to walk or drive down to this shop. Now well Its just become expensive.

Plane story, I was in huge workload at old job. Older guy walks in and we talked about restoring , then he made me an offer want to come to his hanger and help restore/ work on his P-51 mustang, I couldn't, , regret forever a chance to work on this plane. Even showed me orignal blueprints of his plane , he stopped back in my work to show me. Opportunity lost !!

Hate that when you get a rim that's drilled wrong. You think you are going nuts and keep pulling things back apart and starting over. You don't by chance have the rim reversed?
Also if you can get some 1/4 inch wooden dowels? You can put them in the holes and see how it lines up with a Nordisk?

Gary,

All is not lost! One, you could use that rim for a mailbox? Two, give the rim to the Mrs for her garden?

Lesson learned! Took me an hour to get that paint sanded off the tips of the fins.
Think next time I'll wipe it off with thinner before it gets baked on.
