• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Magnificent 7

I still race with leather pants ..... the day pictured was red hot too. No sweaty bits ! (and I won too )

Great story Darty! Thanks for sharing.
It looks like a (drool) CCM. Always loved the look and sound of those thumpers!

Oh you welcome! I do not know much about CCM moto sickles!

Good hauling the mail pic!

At first glance with the yellow, I thought was an old maico but then saw the thumper engine.

That is my "baby !" Ex Bob Wright 500 short stroke CCM. The only surviving one he rode in the Trans-AMA Championship in 73. Still very original too. No fancy suspension.
I do have another one that will (hopefully) be out next season. Running a 520 short stroke motor with a 3 speed box. Again, no fancy suspension.

Love the story Darrin ..... keep it up :-)

Great friend you are Dartyppyt! I'm sure he really appreciates you (and his wife). Nice action pic grouty on a very rare bike.

You can see the ole red ford van in the back ground in the first pic, looks like a 72 . My dad had one with a 302 and a 3 speed on the column.

The van they had was this one but red. Only had back windows in it with big orange fox sticker on one back window.

It was quite set up. Had cabinets on both sides and fit two bikes in it and had one heck of a cassette stereo in it.

Those old custom vans were the thing through the 70's. Always like the Fords and Dodges.

Thanx guys! Still welding************************************************************************************************************************ Had to take a break before back gives out.

The 390 pipe should be gnarly and torquey. I don't have doubts on it.

This 125 pipe???????? I'm trying to build some low end and volume. I went off of fatty pipe I have in my shop for 125. I have two options to try when done.
1st after I ride bike might increase the stinger size plus inside diameter of silencer. I will not know until I throw my leg over it. I'm building it to go low in size with option to increase.
2nd it might be fine and I will be happy with results. I think I going to send the 125 cylinder out to get ported and squished.

Thanx! If I do any more of these pipes. I gonna have to take up yoga to weld these things in all angles.

Well, they say! Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
Ha! Mine had gear oil in it********************************************************************************!!

This one here really had a lot of purple hues come out and is Purty!

So pipe is done but have a stinger on the end that I can remove and go bigger. Have to see how she runs to make sure it not holding back.

Let's see if someone got good eye?
