• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Bold move I just made but I already painted the whole head Burgandy with shiney fin tips. I did not like it solid. So this just hit me.......

So I did this bold move.

I think it brings out the fins I modified.

nice work on the cover! these work as well for the air cooled swede smokers if you find one. four stroke cover since they have their pump on the head..Photo766.jpg

Since Husqvarna went to the new swept up radiator shrouds I have never liked the look of them.......until now!
That looks sensational! I had a 2006 TE450 that I just didn't like the look of, but if it looked like that I would still have it.
Tony.

Almost looks like need some gold in there?

Here is my 125 head on it.

Could do head gold and leave tips find machined and leave the band in burgundy lettering?

I like the gold, but I run white walls on my Panhead too. It goes good with the gold forks & gold reservoirs. I'm sure there are lots of people who would think it's to blingy / pretty. I get the same reaction with my white walls but most people like it, they just don't say it. The burgundy kind of gets lost. Doesn't "pop" like the gold. I like "pop".

Ok good point.

Me! I like the gold. So prob going with gold head and keep burgundy lettering.

Well looks like I am going to get a new metal lathe and milling machine.
