As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
I'm not taking a chance on getting a re-packaged Berg ! Haa Haa !just order the red and white plastics and your done
So what model is it? Do you like it? New, used, a different brand, it's always fun to get a new bike. Have fun, I'm interested to see what you do to it
It's a bran spanking new XC-W 300 , not much on the to do list on this one. Skid plate , hand guards, cooling fan and maybe bar risers. I havn't road it or sat on it yetSo what model is it? The next thing our gov will do is pass a law against bike manufacturers who bait us old guys into buying bikes needlessly ! And file a class action lawsuit to help reclaim lost retirement money
Don't you love mid-life crisis!
I didn't even realize it was a 2 stroke lol. 300cc 2 strokes sound like a ton of fun, I'm not ready to leave the 4 stroke idea yet thoughIt's a bran spanking new XC-W 300 , not much on the to do list on this one. Skid plate , hand guards, cooling fan and maybe bar risers. I havn't road it or sat on it yetIt has only been fired during dealer prep. It will probably just sit in the garage like the rest of my bikes did lol
I really want to hear how the torque and weight compare. Everyone says they have loads of power off the bottom but is that compared to other 2 strokes or is it comparable to a 450 4 stroke? One of my friends sold his honda450 to get a 300 2 stroke... nothing beats the 2 smokers!
No more Husky unfortunately . I own a single bike now.Not completely sure what bikes you are getting rid of or keeping.
Are you keeping a Husqvarna bike?
BMW should have swapped Husky for Husaberg. Much smaller investment and they could get out from under Husky lol. I'm sure Husaberg will be back before long, someone will want to revive it. Brand revival is a big thing right nowLook forward to the 2015 Huskies guys. Husaberg is going away !
As soon as I get a skid plate and real hand guards I will hit Chulkwalla !That is a great bike. I see a 300 gas gas 2 stroke coming next year. My 511, and WR125 will be staying though.
Have fun with that, I have been greatly entertained by your postings. Now that your a KTM man, hit the bricks! LOL!
I want a tried and true trail bike that has aftermarket parts and can do everything in the dirt . Brand is no concernBMW should have swapped Husky for Husaberg.
