  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Love the ride!

Rode the beast hard all season and the journey keeps getting better! Vermont woods riding is diverse, eclectic, rugged, snotty, flowy at times, surfy, technical, fast, beautiful, you get the idea....The 2004 te handled all that was dished out very well and sometimes better than the rider. Had some good get offs, couple of mild injury/ healing sessions and managed to keep the rides coming all season. She is n need of some headset and shock bearing work and I will continue to push the big maintainance until the snow flies. Probably eight more weeks of riding left before the tear down and skiing break. Ride on fellow husqateers!

Yeah I ride my 2010 TE 250 all throughout Vermont and New Hampshire. Bike eats it all up. It mashes through the creeks and rocks so well it's great!

So a fellow dirt rider moved to VT from WI. and found his way to a small crew of woods riders. He was the proud owner of an 06 450 TE and sang its' praises every time we rode. We watched rode and listened that beast tractor it's way through all VT had to offer. Within 6 months, I picked up a 07 450 TE and VTskier picked up a 04 450 TE. 3 450 TE's and hundreds and hundreds of miles of VT single and double track just waiting to be ridden. We spent a lot of time in the shop getting the bike dialed in and we literally have gone through every nut and bolt on these machines. We have added all of the bits and pieces to make them more comfortable to ride and to protect them from the weekly beatings we administer. I want to thank all of the individuals on Cafe husky that take the time to answer questions and help guide newbies through the the trials and tribulations of Husky ownership. I also wanted to thank George at Uptite, his parts are second only to his knowledge, which he shares with enthusiasm and passion.
Keep the rubber side down
Happy trails

Perfect! Using cafehusky to meet others in 'real' life, and go through all the little things about the bikes in person - is ideal.

Not everything is shareable via the written language i.e. posts on cafehusky.
