• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

lose weight at least a few pounds up high

I finally got to do a weight check on my OEM muffler section (TE310). The things weighs in at 7.5 lbs and 8 with the dB/SA insert. FMF or PC Ti here i come.

FMF
Factory 4.1 SL (Ti body) 4.9lb no s/a included $$$425 retail
Pwr core 4 with s/a best value per pound 5.3lb 300 retail
Q4 6.1 360 retail, I believe power is same as OEM with dB insert=down

power bomb header 199 retail adds more dB suppression as well.

so retail @ 500 beans to add bling keep the noise within guidelines and to comply with our S/A guidelines and lose a couple lbs.

all ready lost a couple with the ballistic battery swap (great lb/$ value)

If it is light you want, look at the TC250 titanium muffler. It is about 2 lbs lighter than the FMF powercore 4 I had on my TC.

Has a small flat spot in it, let me know if you want to try it. Just need to get it out of the garage.

Later,

Jake for sure let me know $$ plus ship to SD . I can do a screen S/A mod to it like I did to my 04/06 450s.
sound? well we can always figure a way around that. Flat spot? meaning physical dent? or HP/RPM flat spot? I just moved my TE into MY12 TXC fuel spec (injector/ecu). Would love to try this pipe , returns acceptable? let me know.

How does $100 shipped sound?

It comes with the stock spark arrestor... It is a nice mellow sound, I never would have changed it but the guys I buy parts from swore the FMF would make a huge difference... I didn't notice much of an increase at all with the FMF. It looked nice and they did make me a smoking deal on the FMF.

The flat spot is just below the rear mount, you can see it in the first picture I posted. Yeah if you hate it you can return it if you want, you cover the shipping.

sparky...

Later,

deal!, you want paypal? lets PM this issue, I gotta go and start up the 86 KDX200 project. Later my 310 is in pieces at the moment anyway.

OK Cafe crew the OEM TE SS/Al silencer was right near 8 pounds with the dB-S/A installed. the TC SS/Ti silencer is right at 1/2 the weight of the TE unit at 4 pounds. Its also a little shorter which brings the lever arm weight even closer to center of mass. I will check sound eventually (I popped out the dB-S/A cap).
Thats another 4 pounds off the machine high and aft of mass center, this bike all ready has great handling and fatigue free managebility, I cant wait to get her back out with the TXC upgrade, fresh rear shock, lightened rear and fresh tire.

I replaced my TXC310 exhaust with a racing AKRA - just weighed the stock unit at 10.0# including headpipe. (I can't get the system apart to weigh just the muffler ) AKRA says their race system weighs 8.5# total and the evo (all titanium) system weighs 7.5# total.

Sounds like it would be cool to use a FMF or PC titanium head pipe with a bomb in it and the TC250 muffler!!

I put George's (Uptite) slip-on on my 2012 TE 310. He opens it up to 2" where the unit attaches. DB killer/SA in too.

He said Robert should should stop by.....

Come on Motosports, the 165 and the 310 would put down their power in such different ways. Makes a comparison very difficult IMHO.
