• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Looking for Sherco 2 stroke ride reports

Hey Roger, I've had my 300 for a while now. Some discussion here: http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/2014-sherco-2t-4t-300s-quick-test-ride.44273/

Mine is a 14' 300 2T. I haven't ridden a 15 or 16. From what I've read, the bikes haven't changed much expect for many little refinements. Biggest change would be CC forks on the 2016 factory models... due soon.
They are an impressive machine. Any questions, just ask.

I have a 15 FE 501 that is the best all around bike I have ever had and will be keeping for mainly dual sporting and more open riding. The suspension was done by Zip Ty racing for a very reasonable price and am very happy with it.
I have been looking to add a bike for tighter single track and racing. The last several months I have ridden several KTM 300 XC's. I was very impressed with the smooth linear power and when throwing them around in the tight corners and whoops they felt like a mountain bike compared to the 501 and the 501 is suprisingley nimble for a 500. I was most impressed with the XC that had the Electron carb. Supper smooth and seemed to pull for ever.
I heard the Sherco has a very strong and smooth motor and the chassis handles like the Husky X lites ? The X lites I had was the best handling bike I have ever ridden. I was in a Sherco dealer and the Sherco is pure eye candy ! Tell me about yours

I am going to like it. I have a deposit on one. Have you ridded a new two stroke with the Electron carb ?

Good choice, I'm sure you'll like it. Did you go 250 or 300?

I've never used a lectron. I haven't even adjusted the jetting on my bike... I checked it and it was set correct for altitude and temp (according to sherco data) and it starts, idles and runs well.

I haven't ridden a KTM 300 xc but did ride a 250 sx back to back. The sx being a 250 and a MXer a comparison probably isn't valid. I did prefer the Sherco handling that's for sure.

I've still got my X lite and yes, they do handle similar and both very nimble. If I was splitting hairs between them I'd say the x lite chassis feels a little more flexible and the sherco more rigid. I think the wheelbase is similar on both. The ergo's seem a little more roomy on the sherco.
