  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc longer throttle cable?

B Class
I have an '11 WR150 and switched to the keihin carb and also added the Scott's dampener with BRP kit plus taller bars, and my throttle cable is too tight now. What options are out there for a longer one?

You can often go directly to Motion-pro and find out which cable they make which is the same ends, but longer than the one you have.

Some folks just flip the throttle housing to the bottom of the bars to gain more length on raised bars.

I used a 99 Honda CR250 cable and it was long enough to go in front of the forks and have a couple inches left. I imagine Motion Pro makes longer ones for that bike also.

turning the housing back and re-routing the cable to the other side has worked, but when I rode it last night the throttle seemed to come on really hard (more than before)... there is a bit of free play at the handlebar end which is good, but it does seem to hit harder than before. I'm going to check where it attaches to the carb and maybe it's something there that I've over tightened... Any ideas?

*Edited - got it working, it was catching in the part that attaches to the carb. But the re-routing worked, raced my bike this weekend and had no issues :)
