  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Long rocky fireroad ride

About 8 miles into my ride I stopped to take some pics , had a little trouble firing up and getting it going again , got nervous cause it was a long hot walk back , got it going , went another 4 miles or so and headed back , got to truck and fired right up anyone esle with this issue on the 12 te310 , will the ecu and new injectors fix this when I get them.... Thank s

New injector and ECU will help but not eliminate the problem in my experience. I think it's just a quirk of the Mikuni injection system. I was taking off from a stoplight the other day and gave it a blip of throttle before letting out the clutch and it just died. Almost got me run over while I farted around with the e-start trying to get it going again. I finally pulled in the cold start lever and cranked it and it fired right up and I nailed it and wheelied through the intersection trying to get the heck out of the way of the cars flying up behind me.

Well, the new ECU and injectors will help it run better. Mine does.
But the 310 also can have starting issues related to the starter, decompression / valve gaps.

On a ride last winter, in 1 foot of new snow and 20 deg F weather, my 310 worked great. Let's just say the riding was 'exciting' so I had to use the e-start all day, but it always started. Back home a few days after the ride, it would not start. It wouldn't even kick. I took it into the dealer, he tightened the exhaust valve gap to minimum and rebuilt the starter. No problems since. This seems to be a common problem with a few threads here about it. Doesn't hurt to be aware of the problem just in case:

Sorry I failed to say this bike kicked but on these fire road , alot off big rock sections , sections with deep soft rocks , higher up I got hit the nice wooded sections , takes the tight stuff great ... absolutly loving this husky , once the bugs are worked out it will be that much better.
