• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey dad, you know the dirt bike stuff is pretty cool but what we really need now is a cigar boat and a big parachute!!! Great shots looks like they had a awesome time.

I guess he is not terrified of heights. It looks like fun!
I'm terrified of heights though. I was going to use the excuse that I'm too old to participate in such activities as going up in the air (you won't catch me jumping my bike anymore:lol:) but grandpa there wrecked that excuse for me. Great pictures.

Awesome. I can't wait until my son is big enough to do the fun stuff. He's 4 1/2 right now and typically too short to do anything really cool.

Logan is surrounded by great people.

He definitely has a cool Grandpa (his mom's side) that is very active and physically fit...surfs, dives, skis etc... retired Fireman/Paramedic. HE may start teaching Logan and Riley to surf this year. I'm personally not a strong swimmer so Grandpa steps in on the water stuff.

Your right around the corner form a lot of really cool stuff****************************************
Logan is tall and strong for his age. Tallest kid in his class. He just turned 7. Logan used to get very upset that he wasn't allowed to try things or go on rides because he wasn't either 42" or 52" ... now he clears them both... these are the fun years ..... as long as safety is adequately addressed, I'll let him pretty much try anything he wants... with a good dose of commons sense and understanding discussed first.

Sorry DD.... Age doesn't get you a hall pass.... Grandpa is a retired Fireman Paramedic that grew up in Hermosa Beach surfing as a kid. He hasn't slowed down yet. Still surfs locally, Hawaii, and Costa Rica...

He is ok with hieghts.... his sister on the other hand ... terrified... although she is a fish and wants to scuba dive... go figure... two thrill seeker kids...

on a side note catalina looks like a nice, affordable place to move to......:D

A burger and fries will set you back about $25... throw in another $45 for the ferry boat ride over...Grandpa paid for the Parasailing adventure .... he's retired and has money to burn... his philosphy... don't leave any for the kids!!! LOL!!

I think what your family did is great. Kudo's to you and your dad. I wished I had a grandpa that did that with me, or a dad at times. It never happened. Great for you T. I am thankful you all got my sarcasim.

Same with me brother! (This is Grandpa from my wife's side)

I've resolved myself to always be an involved Dad,every day,to the best of my ability.

My brothers and I were so fortunate to have a grandpa who was retired and looked forward to spending time with us. I made myself a promise that I was going to be a great grandpa. Chayzed you can start something that will bring you all the joy you missed as a kid by lighting up the eyes of the little ones in your life. There is nothing like the feeling you get building a sand castle with a 4 year old. Or I can only imagine paragliding with your grandson. WHOOO HOO!
