  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc Little practice track for the 144

I just quit a 14 year state career to chase a wild dream of self employment (check out my new site, www.mnnthbx.com). That's given me loads of free time, and combined with a new 144, it seemed like a good idea to build a small track on our farm for lunch break fun. An expansion of the same track I rode 3 decades ago as a child oddly enough. It's nothing amazing, but thought I'd share. A blistering laps ends up @ 60 seconds. There's some fun elevation change, though the camera doesn't pic that up too well. Of note, this is my buddy filming. He's a big bore guy taking his first ride on the small bore, and hasn't really figured out the clutch, point, and shoot thing....

Here's some stills from the day I took while on break...

I like it a lot, but I never rode the stock pipe once, so I'm of little value for a comparo...

sweet vid, shots and site!

i want a Ruckus so bad, neighbor picked one up that's lightly modded, super fun scoot. love the products you have up so far, good luck with the new venture!

Living the dream.... (only if I manage to pay the bills)

The Ruck's are a blast. I've owned and still own, all forms of big bikes, and I swear the Ruckus is the most fun I've had. I have a load of cool vids and pics, but seeing there's no "off topic" section of this site, I'll assume it's not wise to flood the place with scooter stuff....
