  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

license plate holder and lights on a 2012 TXC310

msev1111

Husqvarna
AA Class
Was lucky enough to get a plate for my beast. Would like it to be reasonably street legal so I can ride it on side streets to the gas station and similar.

Any info on license plate hardware and light package? Has anyone done this? Is the charging system ok to handle it?

Thx much

Easiest way to mount a tail light and a plate would be to order a TE310 rear fender and a rubber license plate holder from BMP. You can probably order the Husky tail light that fits the fender from them as well. Switches and turn signals (if you need them) are probably best ordered from Sicass Racing. If you need mirrors, your options are to order a set of Brembo brake and clutch perch caps with the threaded holes, or go with an integrated hand guard/mirror setup like HDB. If you go that route you can also integrate the front turn signals. I think the biggest challenge is going to be the wiring harness.

Easy as pie. The TXC has a plug under the tank. One lead is always hot, one is hot when running, and one is the ground. I wired my lights into the always hot with an on off switch. You could also run your own harness directly to the battery (include) a fuse just in case. Charging system has been just fine on our 11.

What light kit did you get....did you simply get a TE310 set?

I have a 2014 TXC 310R (basically a left over 2014) that I will try to wire since it has a street title. I have a few questions:

I assume my bike has the same plug under the tank. I'd like to wire the headlight to the "hot when running" lead with an on/off switch. Does that sound like a good idea? What wattage headlight should I be looking for.

How do I wire the tail light? I understand I'll need a switch on the rear brake, but where do I get the power from?
