  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

License Plate/Blinker Re-Location 2012 TE511

Jeremy Lang

Husqvarna
So I recently decided to Hack off the Rear license plate assembly on my 2012 TE511, before mother nature did it for me !

I decided to go with Bike Master Spade L.E.D turn signals. They blink about twice as fast as the stock ones, but they are nice and bright!

I had to cut the wires on the stock lights, and solider the factory connectors to the new lights. If your good with solider it's simple, I used my plumbing torch and some hobby solider.

I think It turned out pretty slick!2012 TE511 264.jpg
I'm still waiting for the license plate, I'll have to find a spot when it gets here.2012 TE511 259.jpg

For anyone choosing to do something similar FYI: The Darker Blue wire on the factory connectors go to the black or ground wire on your new light. (The RT side is Dark blue and Tan, The left is dark blue and light blue. Also the nut for the light I used did not go over the factory connector, so I had to do one side twice. :naughty:

Check to see if the nut your using can go over the factory connector, I had to install the lights 1st, and then solider the connectors on.

I Like the new look! When the plate gets here I'll post again. Until then, Let's hope the Po-Po give me slack for the lack of a lit up Lic. plate!

Nice! You shouldn't have a problem with the lit up plate, hell I don't even have rear turn signals on my 511. Though there are a TON of dual sports in my small city and I don't think the cops pay much attention to them.

Looks good. I ran those until i knocked them off too (Tight trails) Then got the low profile stick on ones and put them on the sides of the rear fender just ahead of where those mount. I'm sure i will break those too :>)
