• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

lets hear it for coffee

WAHT are you talking about. i give him very little each month. :D

Deans great, that's what the day he started this site i became the first advertiser.

Coffee is a major reason I just brought a new Husky. People like him and others at this site convinced me that I was making the right choice. Thanks Dean!:applause:

Me too though this site wasn't here yet. Dean and his peeps are great peeps:cheers:

I know for a fact he puts in 100 times more then he gets in return and the number is probably much higher then that...

He like most of the people in the Husky community I have found not only care about seeing the brand do well and improve but also care about everyone else who have chosen to be a part of it.

Just all around good people!!!

Well join the "Contributing Members" then, folks. :bonk:

Put your money where your keyboard is, so to speak, and show him some love.:awww:

+1

It's a great resource here, very nicely put together and it's run in a super friendly manner. It's an asset to the Husky marque for sure.

Hats-off to the sponsors too.

I love this site too! There's no bickering or posturing like other websites. Just what we love...Huskies! Thankzzzz

And don't forget those high class, high quality Cafe Husky stickers too!

Ditto...

Great Guy... I've imposed on him numerious times for jetting advice and he's been very accomidating with me... Thanks Dean !

Dean is a great guy. He is a very giving and dedicated person. This site was his gift to the Husky community and he has worked tirelessly to maintain it and keep it going in the right direction.
Often while sitting around in the confines of our "luxuriously appointed moderators control room" I think how lucky we are to have Dean as a member of our community.
My only complaint is that he is not very liberal with the loan of our corporate jet.:D

Yes Rajo that pretty well sums up all. Dean's gift to us is this fine forum, he puts in long days and nights maintaining this great place.
My Canadian based control room is spacious but maybe not luxuriously but we are indeed lucky to have him as our leader.:notworthy:
And I too am still waiting for even a ride let alone to borrow that little puppy.:D
