finally got to ride my 300 for the first time in around 18 months(been 165'n it TBH & had a few parts to order/things to fix on the big girl!) last weekend. ran awesome on top but was mega rich down low. fouled a plug too after letting it idle to warm up in the morning! fuel consumption was real high although we were on a small mx track for a fair chunk of time so lots of WOT on the straights.
i set the rod on new 38mm lectron at 49.5mm from memory which is the same as my 165 to be on the safe side as it had a fresh piston in it(first ride on it). it was the rod Kelly had worked on for the 250/300 but name escapes me now, maybe 3-2M or something(chime in here Kelly)?
Question is will a full turn out, which equates to around 1mm i believe so say 50.5mm, be ok or getting into lean territory? still 25-30C temp wise & max 500m elevation(does this matter much haha). dont have anywhere to test it before actually going riding(can start it but not ride it around my area really-suburbia) so wanna be in the ballpark plus its a PIA to take tank off, adjust carb etc when id rather be riding. just dont wanna be too lean, rather be a bit rich then can adjust it quarter turn next ride if required(when i may have more time to adjust it at riding areas). thanks
