• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Lectron for a YZ250?

MikeB

Husqvarna
AA Class
Seriously considering pulling the trigger on one for my practice bike. I've read that Lectron has shortened units available for the YZ - can I get one thru you?
Thanks.

Overall length of the stock YZ carb is about 75mm
The stock Lectron is about 95.
The cut down Lectron is about 84,
Trying to jam the 95 in a YZ causes the air boot to deform and rub the shock spring - even if you remove any reed spacers. Lectron is taking a look at a new reed to carb piece to give a little more room.
From all reports the stock Lectron fits fine on any other bike but the YZ250.
I'd rather have Kelly make a little dough from my purchase is possible to thank him for his support of the riders on this forum.

Yes no problem. Email me at motosportz@gmail.com We have done a lot of work and design on this carb and have many custom features you dont get from the standard Lectron offering. These will be up on my web site soon. We have relocated the overflow hose outlets to not interfere with the pipe and be more out of the way while also being rerouted for no overflow on hills etc. We have them cut down as far as they can. Lots of nice changes.

Dimensions are...

86mm long front to back
For the husky (but one you order will be perfect for the YZ) we have a 46mm motor side diameter and 60.5 air box side bell. This fits perfectly on the 125 huskys.
the carb from the bore center to the top of the carb for clearance info is 125mm.

Some people may not realize how good we have it that Kelly has put this much effort of his own time into these carbs. Know someone bought one directly from Lectron for a KTM. Wasn't drop right in plug and play like ours. Was never made aware of a remote choke option. Was unpleasantly surprised to find the stock choke not accessible with Clarke tank. I would not have known about the remote cable option either, and no way could use the stock Lectron with my 02 with the IMS tank, so I didn't really even consider the swap until then. Thanks Kelly!

No problem and thanks. I ahve put a lot of time and effort into these and I really like these carbs. Thats like the 4th carb design I have tried on my 165. All rand good but they are now massaged into what works right for our criteria.
