• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC Lectron and the KTM smoker motor

hawaii-rider

Husqvarna
AA Class
The vid is a 2014 300 KTM motor on the dyno with the stock then the Lectron carb.
(if you have seen this or this has been posted, blame my video searching skills on CH)

First run is stock with the "RM Needle" etc etc - "the" jetting with the stock carb.
Second run is a Lectron

The bike picked up over 3+ Rear Wheel HP and 2+ foot pounds of torque with NO other changes.

Interesting independent vid and test.

you can hear the bike sounds different. i noticed this right away installing one on my 360. great carb.

How do you tune the mixture on a Lectron. Is it the fuel rod only or are there other adjustments. Cam.

the fuel rod which you can swap out as well as adjust...there is also a powerjet that is externally adjustable that affects the top 50 or top 33 percent of throttle.

Put one on my ktm250sx and works great seems to smooth out hit. Only problem so far is on snowbike had carb freeze on me a couple times.

That crazy idea might work do you have any pics. I have ran a carb jacket with no carb heat that still froze then ran 2 zippo hand warmer inside carb jacket that seemed to work not sure if just lucky or not. image.jpg

troy is bat crazy but his idea really isnt. many winter dirt bike riders wrap or insulate their carb to help with keeping snow off and/or trying to keep motor heat in.

yea what he said you gotta keep it heatalated hell thats straight outa DIRT BIKE like backin the 70s oh look i worked the CAPS LOCK button AGAIN boy i am on my meds 2nite:banana:

This is an easy fix in my opinion, I would run piping from the carb inlet and draw air off the back of the radiator....Or I would machine an aluminum spacer/adapter for the carb that runs engine coolant and fuel through it. Easy. Maybe make a bypass so you can turn it off in warmer weather.

Why couldnt someone run the good disposable brand hand or the larger foot warmers.
activate them, get some gorrilla duct tape and rig it on/around/under the float bowl.
those things get REALLY warm and last a long time.
No rigging, no flame
My wife runs em in her boots when she is horse riding in the cold and I have run em in my SIDI boots, and I keep a few in my Ogio ride vest for emergency.

Just a thought

Cant you run heated grips to keep carb frost free, motors running carbs warm. Done probably last more time than on a set of bars moving all the time.

Was just a thought, i made a set from 3ohm resistant wire and a resistor on a flip switch worked well the issue i had was soldering the dam wire as it was made of some unsolderable metal.
