    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Can any one help?
My forks have leaked since I bought my WR300 in 2011. I have had new seals put in them by both race tech and Teknik. There are no scratches or rubbing anywhere They still leak. I'm almost about to give up.
Should I
Any ideas ??
 
over filled with oil, not enough air gap are they really hard in compression?
or dirt is trapped under the seal lip you can get a scraper to clean these out for about $15
 
Yep get a Seal DR and try cleaning the seals. I sent my forks out for a "re-valve" and they came back leaking :(. A quick clean of the wiper and seal with the Seal DR and no more leaks.
 
I have had this with another brand of bike. It turned out that the oil was getting around the seal. Every time I changed the seal I was able to push it in by hand so I should of realised earlier. I put it in with silicone sealer and that sorted it. Even if your seal is tight to put in I would still check for deep scratches or deformaties where someone may have gouged the seal out and damaged the mating face on the fork.

Also X2 on the bushings.
 
Buy SKF seals, they have a lot less stiction and I've had mine for quite a while and they are dry. I made a tool out of an old credit card to clean out the seal when mud gets in but I haven't had to use it on my SKF seals yet. I used the cleaning tool all the time on the factory seals but eventually they leaked no matter what I did.
 
Try closely inspecting them for stone chips that can cause a sharp edge on the chrome and cut the seal lip.
It doesn't take much of a chip at all to have them leak.
Inspect them very carefully with good lighting preferably off the bike so they are fully extended.
If they have wear marks, in lines, up and down the chrome it can be the sharp edges of the bushes. Deburring the edges of the bushes can eliminate the vertical wear lines.
 
One of the things we do when rebuilding a set of forks is to is chuck the forks up in our lathe and check to make sure they are still concentric. You may simply need new fork tubes.
