  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc Leaking bowl seal

Husqvarna
Pro Class
Noticed yesterday seal is leaking on lectron. Not much but enough to notice when dust gets on the fuel residue. I have the ally saggy bowl thingy lectron made to correct sagging bowls. I guess seal is gone. Worth trying rtv around bowl join yas reckon? Was gonna ride Wednesday is all

I have used grip glue on the actual gasket itself before and it worked really well. If it gets in the carb gasoline will desolve it so it didn't gum anything up. You have to be quick with it because it dries fast. I don't do that unless I absolutely have to but it does work. Hope this helps.

Try permatex 515 or 518 gasket eliminator, won't go gummy like normal silicone does. Bombardier had a lot of engines lean out from rtv breaking down and partially plugging the main jet..

I didn't know there was a "Saggy bowl thingy"(AKA Bowl brace) available for the plastic bowls Shawry.
I had a leak in the mating surfaces between the carby body & the fuel bowl too mate.
I ended up removing the seal from the fuel bowl & sanded the bowl down with some 1000 grit wet & dry on a glass plate, just enough to get the bowl flat again, then I glued the seal back into the bowl. Cant remember what I used sorry. It stopped leaking after I did this.
Do you have a pic or part number for the Saggy bowl thingy man? It might be good insurance.

Rob from Ballistic performance is your man. They're $15-$20 each from memory just an ally bracket type thing that attempts to make the bowl mate properly with carb body. I was hoping to be lazy & just seal the outer surface

rtv silicone and fuel do not mix...do a search on here and you will see some issues about the lectron bowl issue. they sell an updated bowl to fix the issue, the seal is not bad.

What's the updated bowl justintendo? Ally or still plastic?

Tried rubbing it down last night. Looks by eye to be flatter & when remounted hasn't got any sag so hopefully she's sorted. Will find out on weekend!

Haha yeah man it's good I'm back working in town no more FIFO(fly in fly out) work so can ride every weekend.

Well, subject to the missus cracking the shits!:)

Had a heap of rain last 2 days & fine for weekend so gonna push for 2 days riding! Yeeeew

Did 80 clicks today & no fuel leakage! Good times. Cheers Damo

On another note when I had the bowl off I noticed the white plastic encapsulator thingy(surrounded by foam) for PJ is split top to bottom on an angle. Is this normal?

The fuel bowl on my lectron has been warped for a while now but has not leaked. I ordered the aluminum support bracket from lectron and it arrived the other day. i will be installing it soon to avoid any leaks. I also will be replacing the screws that lectron supplied with the brace with stainless ones. The size is 10-24 x 3/4" long machine screws if any-one is interested.!

I believe it is normal judging by the pictures on the lectron parts website.
