• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

KTM Rumored to Buy Financially-Challenged Gas Gas

Trunkenpolz, KTM is not buying GasGas that much we know, but what about Peirer Ind.? the 100% owner of Husqvarna and @ 52% owner of KTM (if I have my numbers correct).


But business wise WHY would be the next question.......I don't think Peirer Ind likes the Latin way of doing things.

Husky looks pretty well owned by the KTM conglomerate.

So what does that really mean in real terms of the real world? I'm really clueless onn many aspects of business ... As with the Cross stuff above .... Is it all just a paperwork shuffle of $ between the same players?
 
is the trials bike line making money GG TXTs are all you see here my buddy who was a dealer said they have 90% of the US market but that cant be more than a 100 or so:excuseme: can it????

Thats the last thing that Beta needs right now. They are doing fine, maybe better than fine, with an appropriate plan for their size and quality product. Seems like they have GG beat in the US enduro market now anyway so why look for a mess to clean up?
 
I agree, just stirring the pot. I think this whole thing is a bunch of bull and creating a ton of free press for Gas Gas.

Probably yes.
 
If yes on that paper shuffle... Seems you would want to see the $ trail coming into that shell to get a clue on who your daddy really is ... That might be 2 avenues? ...1 avenue from the names inside the Cross block diagram that are paying dividends(?) back to daddyo and a second avenue might exist from <outsiders?> ... ~100% WAGing here ...
 
Would that actually be important? Or can it be passed over and life would still be sustainable? Sort a DBL-header question ....
 
This isn't the first time they were in trouble, so the comparison some make to GM is not completely accurate. Over the years its been a constant string of "near misses" and bailouts. They should look at the guy who ate their lunch, Beta(and Sherco not far behind). Smaller, with a very clear focus on QUALITY, and build what we really want.
 
Thats an intersesting take from Chilly, and probably an astute one. The process is dragging out now longer than I thought it would.
 
Yep ... we are well past what was told here was gonna be the date the cash was flowing again ... There is a monkey wrench tossed in again or just more bad info... I gotta get back to reality ..Word, word is, a TR650 will be my wingman tomorrow ... If so, I'll be taken back to say the least ... I'll be taking the 08 WR250cc 2t Husqvarna bike out... It's my goto bike in any situation of un-knownness ... I'm a little jacked-up to see this beast I've read about so much ... Might sleep in my clothes tonight so I don't waste any time in the AM.
