• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Which would be best for hot weather ? ready to pull the trigger on this at Atomic........ Mostly Idaho woods
 
They're basically the same pant, but I believe the Moab has more mesh. I have the the Revolt and while they have a super long zippered vent on front of you thigh, I did start to break a sweat just standing aound.

They are similar but have heard the Revolt is a stronger more durable build.
 
I got a pair of Klim Mojave pants and they are total mesh. I have a hard time in the heat so I looked for the most mesh I could find. The Mojave pants look like they'll fit the bill nicely. I haven't worn them riding yet but they look very well made and they fit perfect. I had to buy a size smaller than I normally wear, and all the other style Klim pants I tried on in my regular size were slightly large, too.

Related, some thoughts on the Dakar pant.

I have the Dakar pant. It has long zippers on the side to allow heat to escape.

It is my best piece of kit in my bag. I'd say it would be good for up to 90/95 degrees. I'll bet the Mojave would be a bit cooler at higher temps. But...the Dakar can be used at much lower temps.

If I were only buying one I'd get the Dakar. If it is truly a hot weather, high exercise, slow speed purpose, II would get the Mojave.

Boost the economy, buy both:) Oh and, for me, they fit perfect for normal jean sizes. I am a 36 and bought the 38 as I wanted a loose fit and I wear padded shorts. They are a bit too big.

You gotta love atomic Moto... I wish they still had some of those 10$ dirtshark tires though, that was the deal of the century...:thumbsup:
 
I have green, uh grey Dakar's. I figured they're a little more versatile than the Mojave. I've ridden in pretty hot weather, and opening up the vents are enough. Straight hot desert riding, I would think otherwise! I bought one size up also. Just adjust the sides!
 
Just received a set of Dakar's today. Mulled over what to get as I'm tired of the non-breathable (although waterproof) a.r.c.'s giving me the sauna treatment every time I ride. Dakars seemed to be the most universal for our temps up here, we'll see soon. They fit nicely but I haven't put any time on them yet. I originally received a set of Mojave's due to shipper's fault, so tried them on and I think they would make a great hot weather pant. Mucho mesh and excellent Chinese workmanship.

I think you'll be happy with the Moab pants. I bought a pair on A-M's recommendation for the Georgia heat and humidity. So far so good, but it's only May. I'll know for sure come June! Almost forgot, no vent zippers on the Moab to get shredded in the woods - big plus for me.
 
Got em from atomic moto... great product nice workmanship... but they were a little too tight... I guess I'm not a svelte 36 :eek: Guess it's time to start a diet..... or order a size 38 (I'm eating a donut as I type this....) Yeah... I'll get the 38..

On a side note talked to Brian at Atomic .. really nice guy and he know's my local Husky dealer here in Boise...
 
They do run about a half size small. I got some Moabs today for summer riding. Very nice. Most the black part is mesh, these will be breezy.

They do? Really? Is this just the Moabs or has it been your experience that all models run small? Every pair of Klim pants I've tried on in my normal size have been too big. I ordered the next size smaller and they fit great. I remember reading a thread on Klim pants a year or so ago and the general consensus was that they run large so I wasn't surprised by it.

Either I'm getting skinny (yeah, right) or maybe you aren't quite as svelte as you think you are :lol:

yeah... I like the half size too small comment......... I can have some ice cream now...:busted:
