• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

When was the last time you saw that many top off road racers in the USA at one time
Come on HUSKY we need to see at least one Husky in there

Cory is currently talking with Husky about their plans for him in 2012. He has raced a "Stock" 511 at the opening round of the AMA West Hare Scrambles Championship, where he finished second to Kyle Summers. Last weekend he raced a 2-day event in Arizona. It was the AMRA event called the Dual Duel and was a Qualifier format. He ran the same "Stock" 511 with the addition of a "used" FMF exhaust and some Maxxis tires. Results: Day One-First OA, Day Two Second OA, to Max Gerston on a very trick KTM. Max is also on the list for the "King of the Moto's."

Corey did ride a Kawasaki at Rd.1 of the WORCS race because the 449 Husky, he was provided with, suffered frame damage. The damage was not repairable and with no back-up bike he was offered a friends KX450. He pulled the hole-shot in the Pro-2 class and went on to finish 3rd on a bike that was not set up for him.

Cory would like to stay with Husky and I, like other Husky riders, hope that Husqvarna will sign him ASAP. Yea, he is my friend, but they [Husky] better not let him go Green, Orange or Blue for 2012.

Hes one of the only world class level Extreme Enduro/Ecross capable guys that Husky has (Letti as the other). I certainly hope the Gray Thunder stays with the gunsight for the sake of the brand!!!

Sounds like Cory with out a signed contract with HUSKY is doing better then any other Husky racer
in the USA. I will be at the race and I along with a few friends hope to be able to cheer for Cory on a Husky

Graham Jarvis, Kyle Redmond, Destry Abbott , dont know the rest yet
Great ride from Destry!!!(the old guy now)
PS I think both Graham(Hbg) and Kyle(???) were on Husabergs, Des on Kaw.

Jarvis on GoldenTyre FIM comp tires, with GT mousses(?). model(?)

I was there and if you were not there then I really do not know how to explain just how big it was.First it was listed that maybe 20,000 people would be there well
Thur morning it looked like 30,000 and today it was just motorcycles.Tomoro Fri is the main event with the rock crawlers.Every canyon where it was a good place to watch
looked like there was a 1,000 people watching. There were people from all over the world yes all over the world either watching or racing and some on this sight say Desert racing does not draw a crowd. I personall saw every top camera man and motorcycle editor I have ever seen either at a race or on TV there filming this race. There was a whole city set up called Hammer Town To bad Husky missed another chance to set up a display booth and premote Husky. The vender rows were endless to big to walk it all.
About the race the start was set up 22 bikes wide and with in 100 feet the racers went stright up a hill.Right from the start about 10 bikes did not make the hill first time and had to work at it.I did see Cory Grafinder the lone unsupported HUSKY racer make the hill on a 511 BUT was told about 20 miles in but a rock into the cases ending his day.Maybe next year with a contract and some Husky support he might ride a 2 stroke and do better
Our old ex Husky racer Nic Burson now on a Kaw also made the hill but also broke about 40 miles later. One of the better places to watch was around mile 60 in a rocky tite canyon.First and second place were side by side Graham Jarvis from England and Kyle Redman both on Husabergs 300 2 STROKES Then 18 min back in 3rd was the old Desert Fox himself Destry Abbott. The crowd went wild when Destry came by and rightfull so.A few min back was some one on a Yamaha 250 2 stroke followed by a KTM 2 stroke.I sat there for some time and no one else came so I headed over toward the finish hills where I saw Dustry come down one hill and go up the last hill to the finish.Next bike thru was the KTM 2 stroke. On my way back to camp i saw the Yamaha broke down on the dry lake about 3 miles from the finish.
I have a lot of go pro film and will post it first of the week Now I have pack up and head to Red Mt. for round 2 of the National Hare and Hound.
A few things I learned today. One This event was BIG maybe because of the 4x4 stuff but non the less it was big.Next year it will be bigger and some of us mortal will get a chance to compet. Two Husky needs to take every chance they can to promote the brand and one again they were not there.Three the bike to ride is a 2 STROKE
Four there is no other place in the USA like where this event was held.As far as the eye can see there in not a single house or building.Looks like Dakar north Africa
with 30,000 people parked on a dry lake bed.Out west we race long distance and do not have to do the same lap over and over like a GNCC.Five the winner is now listed as winning the tuffest race in North America and has $10.000 dollars for his effor .But everyone who did finish is a winner
There is lots of film footage already posted at www.district37ama.org Enzberg,Romainia,HellGate watch out we now have another tuff race to add to the list
