  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Not that it's a critical issue, but what can a guy do with the most irritating kickstand man has attached to a motorcycle? It's a '12 TXC310. I'd like the dabnabbed thing to stay down! Especially when checking the oil level or when working on the bike from the right side and you have to lean it your way while in the woods. I haven't figured anything out yet. I'm not losing sleep over it, but sometimes it just makes my butthole wanna spit tobacco juice!

In a technical sense of nomenclature.............yes. I'm desirous in the endeavor of defeating the auto retract feature. Do tell kind Sir.

Even with that fix, my '09 te450 would fall over. Worst kickstand ever! Glad my '13 TE511 is better, maybe that's because it stands out further from the bike when in the down position.

My TE310 stand also works perfectly - especially since I took the auto retract off.

Trouble is, the thing is almost garbage. Not on a KTM stand scale, and I'm told a GasGas stand is even worse. I need to have the bike on a surface that is almost level before I let go of it. I am used to a Honda CRF stand that, although it looks agricultural, it really does the trick, and I could leave the bike on almost any surface and some ridiculous angles with confidence. IMHO, the stand is the worst thing about the bike (so far!)

I have tendency to just lay my TE 310 down as that is usually where it ends up when I use the stand . Then there is the awkward lean, way past center , to retract it when used . Love the bike though .
