• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Kennedy Meadows: Jul 5-7 2013

Hey guys

For those that like to plan ahead... we have a Kennedy Meadows trip planned for Jul 5-7 2013.

Most will arrive Friday night riding Sat & Sun. Typically we camp together at Troy Overflow.
If the group stays small we can use Troy instead if you prefer. Nice new facilities for a few bucks.

Group is made up of guys from RIDERS, ADV, DBA, Café Husky & TT. Maybe this year we can get some of YOU there ! We like to ride in groups of 6 to keep things fun and flowing.

we'll split into groups as needed to keep it fun - JUST SAY NO TO CONGA LINES...

Never been to KM ? This slideshow was my first trip there. Gives a great view of the drive up there and some of the beginner trails.

When you know you are coming please RSVP.

I want to thank you for all the invites, I will definitely make one of these, but not this one.

Think I want to start riding/camping on the TR650, but am not even close to being prepared.

Hi Coffee

I've met a couple good guys on Café Husky since joining the site. Looking forward to meeting/riding with more of the crew this year !

What you guys think... I know someone wants to go riding for the 4th of July.

Dont be bashful... come on out and meet some fun guys.

I'm slow... others in the group are fast... you'll find someone you enjoy riding with.

I'd love to make it down there for the 4th again. I think we're actually going to stay home, though, (Gasp! No!) and re-roof our house. We put a 15-year roof on it 20 years ago. Now that it's paid off I guess we should start taking care of it :p

Ive always wanted to go to Kennedy Meadows. I hear it's like moto mecca with a Mountain backdrop.

Too bad I can't make it this year. Is this an annual thing?

Awesome pictures by the way****************************************

Just got back from a pre-trip trip to Kennedy Meadows Saturday night. Left the house at 6AM... home by Midnight after an epic ride.

We started with too many riders... fourteen... 4 made the full loop. Had too many KTMs according to the orange bike haters... but only Kawasaki and Yamaha broke. Did 65+ miles Sat with about a 100 whoops for the day... things have improved at Kennedy unless you just ride around camp. Even Mahogany flowed like a river... who'da thunk.

Siretta rocked... found stuff I never knew was on that part of the mountain. Nice thick stuff so deep there was only a hint of daylight. They charge extra for some of these trails now... unless you get there early.

So which one of you will make this ride Jul 5-7 ?
I hear through the grapevine that in spite of the sale of the company, KTM is letting you guys keep your pre-Huskaberg bikes as long as you promise to actually use them... so there should be no reason not to come riding !

Saturday we'll be riding Rincon.

Staging at Troy OF. Leaving camp by 9AM. Gas and lunch in Kernville.

Plan to be in camp Friday night or early Saturday for this ride. It will be a long, memorable ride.

No broke down bikes... fat old men... or D Riders allowed... except me !

There will be a second group riding a less aggressive route. :thumb:

Gotcha. Thought it might be some type of specialized permit type thing, I vaguely recall some places in so cal needs specialized / special permit.
